    Teardrop area under the trunk?

Do most builders fabricate their aluminum cover over the teardrop shaped area under the trunk? Or do one of the vendors have this item?

Ditto - made my own, pretty easy & don't believe any vendor sells them.

Dark Water used to sell them. But after buying one (back when he was selling things regularly) and finding it was just a flat piece of aluminum that I had to bend, just made them myself. Probably one of the easiest to fab parts on the build. Make a pattern from Kraft paper (or whatever) by holding over the opening and tracing. Cut out the part, drill a few holes, bend, you're done. I hold it in with nut plates glued inside the lid and button head screws. The same ones I use on the hood scoop. You could use self-tapping screws if you want. I just prefer machine screws because there isn't a lot of glass to bite into there. Have it loose and painted at the same time as the body, and it will blend it and look nice and finished.
