    Fuel Pick-up (Returnless System)

I am doing a returnless fuel system. The fuel pick-up has a little orange cap on the end of the return line, which the instruction manual says to take off.

I installed my tank already, and put the pick-up in with the little orange cap still on there (sort of like this picture from the manual), since I'm not using the return line.

I'm now having second thoughts, and think I'm going to take the pick-up back out of the tank, remove the little orange cap, and then cap off the return line externally.

Does any of this really matter? Why take the little orange cap off if you're not running a return line? My only thought for why it would matter is that the little orange cap could fall off and you'd never know it.

Thanks. (And yes, my build thread is a little bit behind my actual build status).

Do you have an additional breather opening on the tank?

Yeah, the normal tank vent. Which I’m still trying to figure out the best routing/location for...

I'm thinking they were aimed to spray return fuel on the pump housing.

A side benefit of the return system is the return fuel is (most) always overfilling the baffle.

You could also think about purchasing the single fuel pickup from Breeze. Same diameter tube as FFR. I also was concerned about the cap falling off so bit the bullet and called Mark. Good luck.
