    Weather Strip Question

The manual is not to clear on how far to go with the push on weather strip. Across the cabin back, does it go all the way to the frame, stop at the dip in the aluminum, or stop at the trunk panels? IMG_0424.JPGPlease look at the photo and tell me if I went to far, or not far enough.

That angled panel in the rear of the cockpit forms part of the rear wheel inner wheelwell. You'll need a good seal along this edge to keep the outside from coming inside. Especially when you get caught in wet weather or wet roads. I brought the bulb seal across the top and down to the frame by the door latch bracket. After the body is on for good, any little gaps or opening can be sealed up with caulking.

Ok, just to be sure, you are saying to pull the bulb seal all the way down to the black frame you can see in the photo, correct?

I didn't think the back wall got bulb seal. Did that change recently?

99.9% sure nothing has changed. No bulb seal on the rear cockpit wall between the trunk sides. Once you get the carpet on, the back wall is a tight fit to the body. Typically tight enough you may need to trim the body roll a little. Add bulb seal and it's not going to be easy to assemble. But you do need it from the trunk sides down to by the door latches. Tried to find a decent picture. Best I could find was this photo I cropped and marked with the proper bulb seal location. Sorry it's a little grainy.

    Thanks a lot.

    From the manual,

The push-on weather strip goes across the top of the trunk walls and rear floor.

Where on the “rear floor” does it go? Do they mean across the back of the car?

The lower floor lip below the trunk opening.

That would be the sides of the trunk. You have it running across the cockpit back panel. The rear floor is where the trunk floor butts against the body.

Without the bulb seal running behind the seats, doesn't the body sit on the "sharp" aluminum? Or does the bulb seal on the outsides support the body, no contact with aluminum?

No hard contact. If you put bulb across the back bulkhead and you'll find that it will hold the body up making it difficult/impossible to get it into the proper position.
