It should go to the same wire that powers the gauges.

there are three wires. one to power distribution,one to dimmer switch,both of which i have connected. the third is yellow with a female connector attached to it but i find no male connector marked volts to match it with.
That yellow wire can literally go to the same terminal as the main 12v feed to power the gauges. Not the dimmer wire, the main power wire. That yellow wire is just measuring system voltage. And, you're providing system voltage to power up all your gauges.. so. you can use that.
I think I remember a bit of process of elimination with that one. Hook up all the other gauges and see what’s left. As said above it’s just measuring the power, I feel like mine was labeled something like power or 12v.
Any switched 12-volt power source will work.

Thanks Padre. I just wired my dash a few days ago and wondered where the yellow/green striped wire connected, now I know.
