Open class 1/4 mile challenge cars?

Hi thanks for the great new forum to all thoose involved. How many of you guys build challenge cars for open class road course or other types of racing? I have built a Mk3 (15K miles now) with the "new boss 347" efi and 3 link and Im now looking to build a non spec challenge car in the next year or so. I all ready have a a 557 bbf witch I know is not ideal for any type of road course racing but this will be more of a 1/4 mile only and a little around town type car... Pic of motor.>

Cool I was just courious if many do. I will try a couple auto cross events with it and see how it go's Im fairly sure my sbf mk3 will smoke it just because of the less weight and more nimble handling.

I have built quite a few "spec on steriods". All have become quite capable cars. If you want to talk setups and such give me a call. Gordon

Don't forgt most the spec racers are built for road racing and I welcome the extra floor/side/cage impact mods that protect, so yes your talking about 2450-2500 lbs with driver and 22 gals of fuel. I would ot want to be on the track in a non prep'ed car as I have seen first hand how the challenge car frame holds up to impact.

That's what I did with mine. Build it how I wanted and race when I want. It is bad *** to drive a challenge car on the street. Then roll in to a track and race it. Then drive it home afterward. Be careful at the drag strips they all have crazy safety rules and do not understand the challenge car. Contact me if you need any details.
