    Adjustable Drivers Footbox

The new drivers footbox (ok shipped Sept 2017) is somewhat adjustable.

Does anyone extend them farther than the minimum?

I was thinking they should be riveted in position to prevent vibration, rattling, etc.

    Thanks

I riveted it down. That side was not where I needed more room though. The coyote panels on the gas pedal side are the problem for me. Take a look at what people are doing about that while it’s still easy.

I would stick w/ the factory bumpout dimension. Other you will have problems fitting the body. Search build threads to try to find a pic of the bumpout w/ body on but no elephants ear aluminum installed.

I remember in the past that seeing a post about this while I was doing my left side of the Drivers footbox. I did find an old post where Kleiner mentions that FFR has already pushed out the Mk4 aluminum as far out as it can go. But I'm not positive I'm comparing apples to apples.

For my bump out, I would put the body on the car and fasten in place. Then I would get a good idea of how far out mine could go. Good luck. Dave

If you go to far it will hit the body. I would fit the body first if it where me.

Mine doesn't have the bump out. But IIRC , on my friends car, the factory one is maxxed out.
