Headlight buckets and HID/LED Bulbs questions
Assembling my headlights, I couldn't leave we enough alone (like the rest of the build), so I bought some nice LED lights that worked good on my Ford Ranger.
After running HIDs or LEDs its hard to go back.
Now I'm worried about heat, plus where to fit all the extra hardware, I think I remember someone cutting the back out or something but it looks like its in a place that could see spray if caught in the rain.
Does anyone have experience with this?

I used LED’s and everything fit in the bucket. Just had to drill a hole for the wiring to come through.

Thanks Henry,
Do yours have the voltage reg box? No heat issues?

Yep they do and no heat issues that I am aware of. I had them in my Roadster for a couple of years without issue and now have them im my coupe.

For the LED headlights I installed in my Coupe I attached the power supply to the back of the bucket per the picture below. Technically probably could have fit inside. But this was much easier to do. LED's don't draw a lot of current and I haven't noticed any heat issues. Have a similar setup in my Roadster that I installed the same way. Driven for three seasons no issues. My understanding is that HID's draw more current than LED's. Especially at startup. So they might be a little more critical.

Thanks guys I don't see a way to disconnect the wire at all so i'm thinking of cutting a slit/flap to pass through the large connector and box that i can close back up.
Ed did yours unplug? I don't see how you got the box/conn through that hole. looks like a magic trick

No magic. Not nearly that clever. There was a connector between the power supply and the bulb.

I used LED's and put the power supply inside.
I have drove a lot after dark with no issues.
One of the best upgrades I have made.
