FFR 4040 -- Complete, But Not Finished

This Factory Five Roadster was completed with the assistance of the Aliso Niguel High School Advanced Auto class. It is complete, but not finished, and not painted. It starts, stops, turns, and does everything else a real car does. Everything is attached, except those things that would have to be removed for paint (like mirrors, louvers, weather stripping, trim plates, bezels, badges and the like). To be clear, you are going to have to play with this car. If you don't want to play, this is not the car for you and I invite you to look at finished, painted, completed cars -- for which you will, of course, be paying more money. If you want to play, and save a few bucks, this is a great car for you. Priced at $20,000.

    Engine & Drive Train

This car was completed with a fuel injected 302 with roller lifters and a custom-ground cam. The professionally rebuilt T-5 transmission features a Hurst shifter. Cosmetically, under the hood, the motor is equipped with Ford Racing Cobra valve covers, a Ford Racing Cobra intake plate, red Ford Racing plug wires and chrome BBK headers leading to black side pipes. The car also has under drive pulleys, a labeled wiring harness (to ease the final sorting), and an electric fan with variable sensor. As the motor was of uncertain mileage, it was taken down to the block, cleaned, checked, and painted, and all maintenance parts (clutch, flywheel, pumps, gaskets, thermostats, seals, belts, hoses and fluids, etc.) have been replaced.

    Chassis & Suspension

Starting with a powder coated frame and IRS with a limited slip differential (3:27 gears), it includes five lug chrome Cobra R wheels with Falken 275/40ZR17 B451 tires mounted to tubular lower A-arms and a full coil over suspension with front bump-steer kit. For stopping, the car has four wheel, disk brakes with rebuilt calipers, HPS pads, and braided stainless steel lines. Power steering goes through a Flaming River steering joint.

    Body & Exterior

The body is assembled and mounted, as is the hinged hood, ready for final fitting, prep and paint. It has a single chrome roll bar with bezels, chrome quick jacks, a polished Aston LeMans-style gas cap. Original badges, insignias, and license plate frame are included. Wind wings are also included, ready to mount.

    Interior and Accessories

The interior includes period correct black vinyl seats with a driver's side slider and 5-point Simpson harnesses, black carpet and a leather 14" steering wheel. Gauges are from a Ford Motorsports cluster with a 140 m.p.h. speedometer. Comes with the build manual, build documentation and photos, Chilton guide and Ford Motorsports Performance guide.

    License & Registration

Comes ready to license and register with Manufacture's Certificate of Origin (MCO), Factory Five VIN plate, and, for California buyers, a 2003 SB100 SPCNS Certificate (No. 427 – how cool is that?)

The car has less than 100 miles on it for sorting purposes. As far as I know, everything works, except the gas gauge, and the oil pressure gauge, but it still requires finishing, sorting, and adjustments. The car is offered as is, where is, and without any kind of warranty. Conforming the vehicle to any local, state, or Federal laws will be the responsibility of the buyer. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer. I encourage an inspection prior to purchase, and will attempt to answer questions and forward photos promptly. The pricing reflects that the vehicle is complete, but not finished (please read the first paragraph on playing and saving).

The car has sold twice previously on eBay, but neither buyer funded. In each instance, the listed buyer was not the true buyer. The listed buyer had no intention of completing the transaction, but the true buyer then attempted to use the sale as a starting point for other negotiations, including outright fraud in one case. As a result, honest and straightforward buyers are greatly appreciated.

$500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours of the close of sale, with the balance due with in five days of the close of sale. Cash or Bank-to Bank wire transfers are acceptable forms of payment. MCO and SPCNS will transfer after funding clears
