    Painless wiring: exciter for alternator

I have a 2001 LS6 in my GTM. I'm using the oem engine harness and pcm. The Painless wiring instructions indicate use of an "exciter" wire to connect to the alternator. . I know the function of exciter wires but I am assuming that the pcm already handles that job. In my search I haven't seen any discussion of this so I'm assuming that everyone is following the Painless instructions and using their exciter wire.

If this is a donor 'Vette engine harness, just follow the wiring instructions in the GTM assy manual. It's been years since I've wired up a donor engine harness, so I don't recall if the painless exicter wire is used or not, but if you wire it up according to the FFR assy manual, you will be fine.
