Pegasus (ancient Greek Πήγασος / Pegasos, Latin Pegasus) is one of the best known fantastical creatures in Greek mythology. He is a winged divine horse, Small horse in this case......

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall and torque is how far you take the wall with you.

The name should reflect the origins of Factory Five, but also tell us about the car. It has to say light and powerful, but also remind us of where the Smiths (and factory five) come from. It reflects the pride of the customer, who takes the pieces and assembles them into a thing of his own. It tells the future of the company, moving ahead and tapping new markets. The new name should be the Factory Five FORGE.

Other not as cool names I thought of were things like hammer, striker, Vulcan (Roman god not star trek), etc

I'm stuck on the car being a corner carver so...

how about 'Arc' relating to the cars ability to hold a line through a turn.

Or... maybe something from the Surfing Lexicon...

"Glide" A spiritual place when everything seems to be in synch...the wave, the surfer and the board are one entity. When a surfer achieves this he's said to have the...glide. Of course change board for car, surfer for driver, and wave for road.

"A spiritual place when everything seems to be in synch, the road, the driver, and the car are one entitiry. When a driver acheives this he's said to have the Glide..."

    Cool

Kids said a Panther, I'm thinking KISS as in the principle, as the weight, cost and ease of the build. Although not a name you brag to your buddies. Hey I'm building a Kiss.

My wife says the Doughnut as in another hole to throw money into.

Ok, back to the cool names. Thanks for letting me play.

Edit, Kids have another one. The luch box. small, light and is about all you can get into it.

Edit #2, Since the Star Wars theme, How about Luke, son of Darth Vader, FFR could be considered by some as the Dark Side. Also my son's name.

Also since this car will bring in a whole new crowd thinking something along the lines of the Dark Knight, or Newbie, Also since we don't know what it will be we can just call it the Knife. Lets see what we carve up.

Ok here you go "VELOCITY" or "T_VOL" short for terminal velocity. But I don't care what X stands for, FFRX is pretty cool too.

    Dave,

    Don't over think it.

FFR "Nirvana" (copyright wise you are good to go as long as you do not start a heavy metal band) IE: state of being free

Marketing wise, something along the lines of "Tired of the same old same old, want a way to relive some of your youth, get back some of that missing energy, FFR proudly presents "Nirvana", the state you will be in once you are on the road". Again this is first blush, pre caffiene this morning, so some things can easily be improved on.........

Personally, I don't care for the deep thinking type names. As unsophisticated as I am, I don't get the meanings most of the time. When Suzuki came out with the Vinson ATV, I had no clue and turns out it's named after a mountain in Antartica.

    I like simple:

    Mongoose

    FFR-W

    F5W

    WR-5

If you like snake names there is a SE Asian file snake who's skin is used in hand bags and such under the name 'Karung' which has a kind of cool ring to it.

    In-house naame

OK, the in house name pre-build, before the final design is settled upon:

The Seargent Schultz; as in "I know nothing...." seems appropriate from all those who are "in the know."

I will work on some other names for after I see the design. I LOVE the rough drawing and the price point; both are very sexy!!

    My $.02

    Regards,

    Steve

I like it. Someone else mentioned Arc, this is along the same lines, but I think Apex is the better of the two. Apex implies cornering prowess, also implies pinnacle of FFR achievement, etc.

I like the name, just not for this type of car. It sounds heavy, and one of the emphasis on this design is its light weight. I do think it would fit perfect if FFR came out with a truck kit.

To each their own, I guess. Not all things that are forged are heavy, some are light and agile. Like a katana or other sword for instance.
Of all the names so far I like Forge and apex the best.
I'm waiting to see how the prototype turns out.

The Zero was a Mitsubishi. Subaru's parent company, FHI, used to be the Nakajima Aircraft Company.. so FFR kAte would be more appropriate.

Ignoring the potential PR backlash of naming your car after a past enemy's killing machines.. Check out the old aircraft names for the Nakajimas:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nakajim...gined_aircraft

I really like Gekko (Moonlight), Donryu (Storm Dragon), Hayate (Gale) and Karyu (Fire Dragon). FFR could call it the Ryu and then sell DonRyu and KaRyu badges depending on the engine being implanted.

My suggestion, though.. is FFR Orion. It's a half-step away from the Pleiades in the sky and it's a well known constellation in North America. Yeah.. Ford sullied it in Europe.. but nobody remembers that heap. If that's a problem FFR Orien / OrYan / oRYn / Oreyean would work.

I like simple, so how about a name based on the donor WRX, as in "Factory Five Works".
