Well, I hope to continue my good record of 0 tickets.
I don't know if I told you guys, but I have my plates now. I need to get some insurance, then I will take it out for some shake down runs.

Do you guys remember hearing the whistle from my front grill, in that last video. I have to do something about that, I wonder what that may be?? Any suggestions?

    Gene,

    Reach out to RumRunner.

He had Shane's front grill, and it whistled at certain speeds. He did a modification that stopped it, not sure exactly what he did, but it's not too involved if I remember correctly.

I have Shane's front grill and have not experience this whistle. I put it together with panel bonding, only on the bottom side. Then painted it with black spray paint. Put the thing in straight and that was it. I see you put in a camera and cut the fins. Mike also had done that, so I am not to sure if that has something to do with the whistle.

Hey guys, I am having trouble calibrating my fuel and speedo gage, most likely two different issues. I'm more concerned about the fuel, I have ran out a couple times.
I get a floating needle, it did that right from the start. I have calibrated the empty and full points. Read the directions and watched Speed Huts video.
I check ohms behind the gage at empty, 226. I fill the tanks and still get 226. I check at the sender and get 226. I can ground to the frame and still 226.
    Is my sender bad?
    What so you guys think.

The speedo wonders around also, I have calibrated it 3 times. Maybe my sender is to far away and not completely centered. Is it that critical?

You are probably measuring the wrong two wires on the sender. You need to find the "wiper" wire of the sender which indicates the float pisition.

It seems like you are measuring the two wires that span the entire resistor.

Interesting, I thought I checked different combos, I'll check again.
I have 3 posts, I can't see the top to read. I have one wire in the middle, and one to the left.
And I have the aluminum tanks.
    Any suggestions?

I was hoping you would chime in,
    Thanks

This is similar to your float wiring. You need to find the middle wire that moves with the float.

thanks I'll check it out. I hope the sender is not bound up from shipping and that. I guess I should have checked before the install.

Ron's tanks calls to have 12v power connected. I am sure you did that. Tino it has a different style of a sender in it than you posted, not sure if it acts the same way.

Sender is rated 15 to 160 ohms, the post on the left is labeled sender-white wire. Center post labeled ground-black wire. Right post labeled positive -empty.
the only combo I can get a reading on.
it reads 226, over the rated specs.
not sure what to think, bad sender ?

You have 12v power connected to the right one? I had the same problem untill I connected the 12 power to it, would not read on the gauge.

Your shi*in me, I was wondering. But then I pictured powering it up, and causing a spark, and watching the whole thing go up.
Thank you, can't wait to try it.

    Any thoughts on the speedo?

I have a working fuel gage now. Thanks Doug, it's amazing how such a little thing can ruin a ride.

I'm using my tab app for a speedo, but would love to get the gage to work. Time to focus on that.

One more thing, went to charge the AC. The connection to the top of the canister, that sits by the battery. I must have the wrong gasket. I have the green oring, and it's very loose.
    Any thoughts.

Here is an update of sorts, I love it.
What a frickin blast. I have minor things to redo, but all in all, good to go.

One thing, Mendeola currently has my box. It is popping out of third, life in the fast lane, they'll fix it.

I'm actually excited to watch them again, hopefully I'll pick up even more info now that I'm a little more informed. Thanks again for taking the time to make those videos and post them, and that thank you goes to all the build logs out there, I've read them all lol

My pleasure, if you watched them all, you heard me many times give thanks to the guys on the forum. I can imagine the insight you would have going into a build after watching, cool stuff. This forum has almost got this build refined, good bunch of builders.

I like it that I get people riled up, good luck on the build.
