    Headlight bucket finish

Has anyone painted their headlight buckets? If so did you paint them black or the same color as the car paint?

Nope, just installed them the way they came.

Update: Sorry -- Too used to the Roadsters and didn't realize the question was from the 818 forum.

Are you talking about an 818? If so, then Gen-1 buckets or the Gen-2 buckets, they are very different.

I haven't seen anyone do it yet, and I'm not sure it would look great. For a general idea check these two SL-C, one with body color and one with black. I think if I had a Gen-2 nose I would skin the buckets in carbon fiber.

Have you noticed that the headlights are not level when the buckets are mounted in the fenders? What have others done to correct this?

Thank you, that really shows the difference. I think I will keep them black.

Bonded (glued) mine onto the body so the body paint shows through. Special crystal clear and UV safe adhesive which is used on things like solar cell assemblies. So should be good outdoors for many suns....
