    It lives,,,,,Again!

Not quite as spectacular as Gary’s run around the block in the Koni Machine but a big deal to me.
After having this thing running I stripped the induction and exhaust system down to configure it the way that I wanted.
There is not a lot of forum experience to draw from when installing turbo’s on a GTM so there was lots of trial and error.
Anyway after packing everything back in the engine bay I got it started again today. Needs a tune real bad!
It does feel real good to be making forward steps!

That is going to be one powerful engine! I'd hate to be the one to change your sparkplugs...

    Awesome.

Finally I can see a twin turbo from the inside. Wow what a build.

May I ask what engine your using and if its aluminum or iron and what your HP goal is.

Was any modifications to the frame needed?

The engine is just an, all aluminum LS1 and the reasons for putting the turbo's up where they are is no frame mods and min turbo lag. I think that the longest distance from exhaust port to turbo is 13".
After I get the car on the road and sorted I need to save up for a real transaxle so that I can turn up the boost and have some real fun.
My goal is to get this on the road then start adding things like traction control, a car-puter and better quality turbo’s.
The combination of big turbines and small compressors means higher RPM boost where I think the GTM can actually use it. With the cars low weight combined with a torque’y V8, the last thing this thing needs is a combination that generates boost off the line.
Oh and as for changing the spark plugs, you need long arms and a floor jack as you will not get them all from the top.

That is great that no frame mods were needed.

Would I be safe to assume you are running 10.5 to 1 compressions ratio?

Thanks for the info and I will follow along.

Ha....well no doubt right now since I am still in the research stage.

This is a very interesting build because it exactly what I wanted to do but after hearing about the problems with turbos on the LS1 I wondered if it was really important or if I should go with an iron block.

Most say they wouldn't run any boost above 10lbs on an aluminum block. Everyone I have read doing a turbo on an LS1 successfully is either keeping the boost low, changing to iron and/or lowering the compression.
