AOD owners. What shifter are you using?
Not AODE. Just cannot make my mind up on which shifter to use. Kinda leaning toward American Shifter since they have a gated shifter. But do I really need it? I am not going to track the car but want to have fun with it. I did install a shift kit in the AOD when I rebuilt it. Just want to get a shifter that will work with the weird shifting pattern of the AOD. What did all of you come up with? Need idea of the length of shifter too.

I used Lokar. AOD 700R4 installed to look like a standard shifter

Lokar case mount CM700EMP
Go to Lakar.com to choose your style
The "E" is a chrome 8" single bend lever style
The "MP" is the shifter knob style
Feel the pain for someone building now, 2 years ago it was $180 less

Summit has the Lokar gated shifter.
Summit has their own one too.
Jegs has the Clayton Machine Works gated shifter.
Also the Gennie Shifter.
They're all overpriced in my opinion. I'll still probably end up buying one...

This looks like a good choice for the price. Looks like it would be easy to make my own trans mount if I do not want to use the floor mount. It even looks like it comes with the shifter lever for the trans as well. Thanks for the link!

2X on Lokar trans mount. Uses a solid rod/rod-end linkage. Very solid. Scott
