    Daytona SPYDER for sale, RARE

I'd like to sell Spyder #18 which I've owned for the past 13 years.
I'm new here, but I've also been a member of the other FFR forum for a long time.
    https://www.ffcars.com/threads/ffr-d...g_created=true

OK you gurus please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the Daytona SPYDER was the smallest run that FFR ever made. Only 38 kits were ever made, of which only half were ever completed.
I'm totally biased, but I think the open top version is just so much sexier than the coupe model with that big bubble back

This one was built in 2003 by a master Ferrari / Maserati technician in Massachusetts.

Only 6,500 miles on this car since it was built. This has only ever been used for cruising on perfect weather days here in SF. It's #18 of the 38 built.
Here are some high res photos
    https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...c8?usp=sharing

This car captures the visceral heart of the driving experience - the burble and roar of a carburated American V8 with a short throw manual transmission, wind in your hair and nothing else to distract from the experience. Makes me feel like a kid every time I get in. I just don't get to make enough use of it, and time to pass it on to another petrol head who can enjoy it just as much if not more.

Another added bonus, if you're in California - this is registered as a Special Build SB-100, so you can pretty much do whatever you want with the engine, and it never needs to get smogged

    Engine Ford V8 351 Windsor
Transmission Tremec 3550 5 speed manual
Suspension 8.8" Positrac independent rear end
Wheels Custom 17 inch Billet Specialties, 9" front 11" rear
    Intake Edelbrock Performance
    Carburetor Holley 650 double pumper
    Distributor Mallory Pro Build
Heads Pocket ported and port matched
    Rockers 1.7 roller rocker arms
Exhaust Ceramic coated; custom heat shield
    Shocks Bilstein coil over
    Brakes 4 wheel disks, 13" Cobra R
Wheels 225/45R17 Front, 315/35R17 Rear Yokohamas AVS
Seat Custom real leather wrapped, 4-point Simpson racing harnesses

    Weight 2400lbs
    Horsepower 325hp estimated

    Price pending

Nice car! Great price and color (no bias here ) After spending the last 2 years dodging rain and cold weather, I would really like a hard top. Good luck with the sale!

Beautiful Car!! I own Spyder # 25 and agree with you, the Spyder is the prettiest of all the FFR cars. I always get the most attention at any cars and coffee, shows, etc. Do not sell your car short, it's worth a lot more than what you are asking.
    Good Luck

I have to agree with you Ochie. You both have amazing Spyders. Maybe it's because they are rare now but if I was Dave Smith I think I would be questioning the logic of discontinuing the Daytona Spyders. They're not just unique but really great looking cars.

Thanks John. I think the market is a little soft right now. These are nice cars for not a lot of money.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Realized I listed it for much less than what this very rare model was worth.

Seems that Bring a Trailer gets a lot more traffic, so will list it there.

FWIW, I think you are giving the car away at that price. It reminds me of a Ferrari 275. Timeless, gorgeous design. Cars like these have souls and deserve to be treated with respect and treasured. Good luck.

The BAT folks move a little bit more slowly than anticipated. Hoping to get it listed mid next week, with a close Jan 3 to celebrate the holidays and start of the New Year.
I'll let you all know once it's posted.

For the record, the Spyder sold for $38.5k. Not quite as much as I was hoping for but I'm glad to clear out space in the garage for the potential new toy.

It'll be going to a good home all the way across the country to Florida. Actually to fellow forum member NTGT40. Congrats Nathan, hope you enjoy the car as much as I have.
