Powerblock TV giving away a Roadster

Hey y'all, I thought you might like to know that I just saw that Powerblock TV is giving away a Factory Five Roadster. They said to go to the Powerblock website or facebook page to enter. I thought you might like to know to get a chance to win. I'm going there as soon as I am done typing!!

I also hope like heck that I win it, but that's a separate matter ;-0)

Best of luck to everyone; although selfishly, I hope my entry wins!!

    Good luck to all.

    Regards,

    Steve

    Chris-

I was planning on posting a link as soon as I signed up myself. I have checked all over their site, as well as their facebook page, where they said you could register as well, and no luck. I have sent them an e-mail, and as soon as I hear back, or find a working link, I will post it for everyone here to enter. Even though I secretly hope I win, I wanted to make sure all of us here had a chance to hear about the contest and enter, so I will post it as soon as I have it. Sorry that I cannot locate it yet. More to follow...

    Regards,

    Steve

I remember a blurb in the last FFR e-mail newsletter that mentioned it. It just said info coming soon. Still waiting.

So is it a kit or a finished car? I think a kit would be better so you can build it yourself.

    Scott-

According to what I heard on the show this past weekend, it is a complete kit, even including some tools, if I heard correctly.

I should have waited for the link on Powerblock to be available to make my post, so I could have provided the whole story for folks, instead of just the information that I had. However, as soon as I get a link, I will let everyone know!

Sorry if I have caused any angst for anyone. As soon as I see anything, I will post it ASAP!!

    Regards,

    Steve

Well as I said earlier there was a small blurb in the FFR e-mail newsletter in December so we've been teased before you posted Seems like the only way I can afford to have one (30k is a lot for a toy ) is to win one so I'll certainly be trying my luck!

I was told that the give-away would debut this weekend on Spike Channel's Powerblock. Basically from what I know, as a result of the Factory Five vs. Original car episode (which will air I think in the second week of February) that the guys on MuscleCar are doing a give-away, but it's more than just a Factory Five Mk4. It includes build school for two people and a whole set of Matco tools I think and maybe even a $10,000 sponsorship from Summit for running gear and parts. In either event, full details will be this weekend and we'll obviously publicize it as much as we can.

Dave Smith has full details, but he has been like Howard Hughes in his office for the last month working on the FFR buyout.

FFR will soon be wholly owned by Dave Smith, as he is buying his brother out.

Well THAT'S a relief. I had a horrible nightmarish vision there for a moment, of some old Texan or somesuch taking over the reins. Whew. I can get back to work now.

    Mad Dog-

Thanks for all the clarification. From what I heard on Powerblock this weekend, it sounded like it was a bigger deal than just the kit-- and when I say 'just the kit,' that is by no means an insult, as I would kill for 'just' the kit; seriously I would!!!! ;-o) I appreciate your clarification.

I hope everybody is as excited as I am about the promotion. I am seriously psyched, and I truly wish everyone luck-- just that I would like to have a tad more luck than you all... As promised above, as soon as I find a link with more detail, or with the specifics on how to enter the contest, I commit to providing those details here as soon as I see it.

Thanks again Mad Dog, and I am now even more excited about the contest, although I didn't think that was possible. Oh, and tell Dave to follow the suggestion of Shakespeare; "The first thing we must do is kill all the lawyers." I am certain that there are lots of I's to dot, and T's to cross, so hopefully he emerges with his sanity intact!

    More to follow you all!!

    Regards,

    Steve

I couldn't find the link. I'll be watching the PowerBlock this weekend though (or recording it for later).

I'd take just the base kit, maybe even kill for it, but if it is a full kit, with a MAC tool set, and $10K from Summit, I'll be entering as many times as possible! How many free e-mail accounts can I get between now and then?

Yeah, there's a blurb about some upcoming announcements, and to stand-by-- I've been standing by!!

As promised, as soon as I see anything, I will post it for everyone here. I would love to see one of us win this package-- it looks to be an awesome package, and something a fan of Factory Five would be especially happy to win.

    More to follow...

    Regards,

    Steve

    OK guys-

    Here is the link: http://www.powerblocktv.com/roadster/

    Enjoy and GOOD LUCK!!!

    Regards,

    Steve

Sorry for the double post. I just read that some others beat me to the punch. Sorry.

I've also got to say that this is one heck of a prize! Whoever wins it is going to be very, very happy. I hope someone here wins it, because there's a great bunch of folks on here, and I think it would be great if someone here was able to win it, and share the build with us. Best of luck to everyonee here on the contest!!

    Regards,

    Steve

    Leo-

That's a really nice idea to help the winner out. That could be a significant nut, that might force some winners to sell the kit rather than build it; I'd hate to see that!

Who is equipped to handle donations, and keep us all up-to-date with amounts and open and honest accounting?

Hopefully someone can step-up and take on this role. Leo, mad props for a good idea!

    Regards,

    Steve

Any more details from FFR? The PowerBlock site says it comes with a 6-speed transmission, I assume a T56. If a T-56, should I assume this giveaway comes with an IRS rearend? It's been documented that in order to use the T56 you had to have an IRS due to driveshaft length.

I'd be slightly tempted to sell the Coyote and use the new Ford Racing aluminum 427W. A lot less wiring mess.
