    Autocross help

    I have a mk4 with irs, wilwood brakes and 17” Halibrand replica wheels from factory five with Nitto 555 tires. I would like to get a second set of wheels with dedicated tires for autocross to switch out for events, looks doesn’t matter to me for this,trying not to break the bank, any specific recommendations. Thanks

    What are you planning to run for tires? The answer to that will dictate whether you're looking for 17" or 18" rims.

    If you go with a Hoosier A7 slick or the 100 treadwear R Comps like Toyo R888R or Nitto NT-01 they are available in our usual 17" sizes. If you plan to run in a 200 treadwear class the top of the heap players like Falken RT660 or 615, Yoko A052, BFG Rival or the Vitour Timpesta P1 you'll have to go to 18s.

    Check American Muscle for inexpensive wheels. I ran these;

    w/ 275 A7s

    w/ 315 A7s
    I am pretty sure they also have 18s.

    I'm hopping in with Mr. CraigS & his suggestion.

    I just purchased a set of wheel from American Muscle a few month ago & there are quite nice.
    The good news is they've got a good selection of 17's & 18's in all sorts styles & sizes so please check them out.
    Shown below is what my milled face FR-500's look like on the Redbone Roadster which are fitted with Nitto NT-05's:

    Good Luck!
