Yes new headers. I had equal length headers before, nice ones but did not have the big metal flange connecting the outlet ports which made them a royal pain to bolt up to the heads.

#48 fired up around 6pm today!! sounds spectacular although I have a a small leak somewhere in the intake because at idle it whistles something fierce.

PCV and fuel regulator go underneath intake for vacume

    oil fill to throttle body

tightening middle intake bolt is close to impossible!

still have to tighty up the plug wires, but she runs great!

Sounds SO GOOD! I do have an issue with it and will be back tomorrow to troubleshoot, between 4800-6000rpm it brakes up a little and shows it on the dyno chart, not all the time but most of the time. Seems to be an ignition issue somewhere, tomorrow plan is to try the following (yup, forgot to bring my spare parts to the dyno!):
    -swap out the dizzy/module
    -change ECU
    -swap coil
    -datalog fuel pressure/change fuel filter

On a plus side engine ran cool never getting over 195deg after multiple pulls (no thermostat, running tiny 1996 mustang gt stock single core radiator.)

    car on dyno

dyno chart of run that did not break apart. Timing set to about 15 1/2deg, fuel pressure between 52-53psi, water temp at 190, weather - it just stopped raining, outside 45deg, inside probably 60-ish.
    319.17hp, 314.74tq

    more to come tomorrow

Back from the dyno! Changing out the dizzy with a new one fixed my bobble at high RPM.

    Final dyno numbers for FFR#48:
    327hp / 318tq, Minimum weight = 2512lb

WOW John, that is a improvement fom about 11.3 lbs per HP to 7.6 lbs per HP, should make a big difference.

Not sure what was up with my dizzy.. I assume the TFI module was messed up, had it happen before exhibiting same high rpm issue. It was easier to swap whole distribuitor because I had a spare with the TFI already bolted up.

Everytime I start the car, I'm still in awe how good it sounds! Cannot wait for vir next weekend.

Ohh and technically it's 7.7 weight/power.. You forgot to round up

John, very nice numbers for sure, and it does sound awesome. I'm betting there are going to be some surprised faces from drivers in other classes at that first race :-)

So did everyone just get 1 throttle body gasket? I would assume we need 2 as we have the EGR delete spacer, so 1 between TB and EGR delete and 1 between the EGR delete and upper intake? What did people do?

So the valve to piston clearance is VERY close on a stock block as mine was right at 80 thousands (seems to be the minimum that TF requires) for the intake (exhaust does not seem to be an issue since it fits within the valve relief of the piston). So if you have a decked block you may run into clearance issues

    Straight from TFS...................

You cannot stick the piston out of the block at all.

So that means you have 5-6 thousandths that you can deck and still keep the piston below deck.

The headers did not align on the heads (same headers were fine on stock heads) the bolt holes were off about 1/32 or so. Had to drill out the holes a little to get them to fit, so that cost me a few hours

What is this and where does it go? This was in the Intake Manifold Hardware Kit. I assume that I can also block off the back 2 vacunm holes (on the under side of upper intake) as I will only need the large hole for the PCV and the smaller one for the fuel pressure regulator, right?

    Tony,

I found the instructions online here for the upper/lower intake: http://static.summitracing.com/globa...in-9r%20r0.pdf

Step 5 has the following which does not apply to us!

For SN95 applications using Trick Flow low profile
valve covers: Install the 1/4" circular spacer on the stud
bolt to properly space the heater hard line. This will allow
the heater hard line to clear the valve covers.

    John, thanks.

No fuel pressure reading on guage (have guage on return side of rail), went to start and have no fuel pressure reading, went to check the input line and it had pressure (as I turned the AN fitting gas started to spew out, and then it was late so had to quit). I did run a KOEO test and nothing showed up but did have a 95 - Fuel Pump Circuit Open-PCM To Motor Ground (M,O) first time but not after that (ran tests several times). I did install a new variable fuel pressure regulator, also I don't have the MAF hooked up yet, but not sure that would make a difference?
