    Got My Kit Today!

This double posting here and on the FFCars forum is going to get old but what can you do? Anyway, Jeff Collins of Whitby delivered my kit today. I couldn't ask for better timing. I finished most of the donor prep work and just this morning I buttoned up the engine after changing over from LS1 to LS6 components. Here we go!

As a side comment to Dave Smith, I noticed that you're spending some time on this forum so you might end up reading this. I've since changed it but my old screen name on FFcars used to be Mr. Viagra which came from the video shoot where I met you at VIR in '01. Remember me? I'm the guy in your video that says "When you get on it, it's better than Viagra" and that's my yellow car with the soft top driving around the streets of VIR. HAH...It's still true and yes, I still have and love my ol' reliable Mark I roadster built when I was a young stallion and didn't really need the stuff.

RICK!!!!!!!!!!!! Thats crazy! I wish I knew Jeff was sending that car to you man! We are re-doing the video RIGHT NOW and adding the Powerblock shows, and the Speed TV stuff. We've gotta send a video crew over to your house to tie the two cars and history together! This is just really cool. I gotta have Mad dog write it up and get this story out.. Hope all is well. By the way, every time I drive my Ls7 car (there is a new show coming out in March on SPEED TV called Building Speed) I realize that I forgot how SICK fast the car is... We need a new quote after you climb out of the GTM!

All the best man. What a great way to end a really really long day.

    Congrats Rick!

Yep, Jeff apparently put some miles on his pick-up today. I'm glad to hear that you got your GTM. I know you've been looking forward to it. And I'm sure that your car will be one that re-set the height of the bar again! It was a pleasure to meet you at the Whitby party last month. Enjoy the build, and remember to have fun with it. I keep letting myself get hooked into deadlines. It really takes a lot of the fun out of it.

Hope to meet up again soon.

    Take care,

    Mike

Dave...I don't know how serious you are but if you want to do a video segment I'd be more than happy to accommodate. Just let me know and we'll work something out. I guess I'll have to brush up on my thespian skills which are non-existent. That Viagra thing was purely spontaneous.

Stig...Yeah, Jeff put some miles and time in yesterday. Apparently he went to Columbia after he left my place and then headed up to you. I don't think he got home until about 10:00-11:00. At some point I have to get up to your place and see your car. It's always nice to see one up close and personal when trying to figure out the jigsaw puzzle.

Long day but what better way to spend it. Left Greensboro yesterday at 6:30 AM, with a trailer full of GTM, morning stop in Charlotte, then on to Woodruff it is so cool to see what these cars can do to people. Visited with Rick W, and Rick B, Nancy and the grandson, already a car guy. It is always a pleasure, over to Columbia to visit with another customer who has become a friend, then up to Charlotte to fill the trailer with Mike and Pam's very nicely built GTM chassis. Got to see their sweet A model too. I know no pictures it didn't happen ,but I swear it did. 505 trouble free miles two tanks of diesel, and two stops at Wendy's. Got home about 10:00 ready to unload and see what is next. By the way diesel is $3.44 in SC which has a lower highway tax than NC, here it is $3.19 right now.
Thanks guys for letting us be a part of your dream, we truly appreciate the opportunity and friendship. Oh and Rick, if you were really spontaneous you wouldn't need the Viagra
    Thanks
    Jeff

    Here you go Jeff!

Now that you have the GTM chassis, this will be my next project for the next 2 or 3 weeks.

And thank you very much for the kind words regarding my Chassis Build.

Cool re-connect Rick.. Congrats to Jeff and the boys at Whitby (Jeff, Mad dog is waiting for your banner art). Rick, I'll call you when we edit the GTM section of the video... Think of something spontaneous... quick! The Viagara line was a great one.
