SOLD- FFR-2224, Boyd McMillan's "Best of Show" Winner at The FROGGFest Nationals

    FFR-2224 For Sale

Dave Borden takes Bo's roadster for a test drive.

This is the FFR that won Best in Show at the first FFROG Fest West Challenge car finals car show at Infenion Raceway (Sears Point) in Northern California in Nov. of 2002.
I built this roadster as a favor to Dave and Mark Smith for Boyd McMillan who lost his first FFR Roadster to a theft by the original builder before he had a chance to pick it up. I began this build in 2000 being completed in 2002 as a non-donor build with the exception of the front spindles, T-Bird IRS parts and peddle box. This was the third FFR that Ken Pike painted and I had Ken incorporate a number of firsts for FFR Roadsters which include the rolled cockpit edge, removal of the rocker panel body mounting bolts, 3/4” tube hood frame and hinges (original style) and a simulated riveted hood scoop. This all out build is the product of over $55,000 and countless hours of labor.

Boyd McMillan has asked me to sell his roadster for him as I have all of the info on this build.

FFR-2224 is a late Mark I with the following features:

Registered to California as a 2002 special construction SB-100

Chassis was gone over to clean all welds smoothing out all the ones that can be seen. Electrical ground lugs welded throughout.
All holes in frame for mounting points have nut-inserts installed.
Frame was sandblasted then finished off with two layers of gloss black powder coating.

SN-95 spindles, hubs and calipers powder coated silver with clear coat and cross-drilled rotors.

Rear suspension is pin-drive width T-Bird IRS limited slip 3L27 gears completely reconditioned throughout. Cross drilled rotors with spindles, control arms, half shafts and calipers powder coated silver with clear coat.

Agreed, the car is first class and built by one of the most talented and detailed builders I know. Don DePontee.

This car is an extremely fine example of a FFR!

Congrats Bo and Don... one of the nicest FFR's built by a true craftsman. The new owner got a GEM! Really bummed we dont have Bo in the FFR community, but hope he hangs around. Really cool guy.

Thanks Dave, I think Bo will be around as he is keeping his Ford GT, although not an FFR but it still fits in the general fold.
Bo is going to order a 2011 Ferrari California in the next couple of weeks and should ship from Italy by early July. Should be a fun little car.
