Anyone have feedback on the Darkwater Customs Door Sill Trim???

Getting to the point of buttoning up all the edges and have been looking at the door trim from Darkwater. Does anyone have any feedback on it, it is a huge improvement over the stock U channel? Photos and comparisons would be a huge help as well.

We bought the brushed finished and it looks great. I had to do some trimming and kinda scratched up the finish a bit. A few wipes with some 0000 steel wool and you can't tell.

Seems like I trimmed mine down a bit. They scuff sometimes when getting in and out, but a quick buff with with steel wool and they're back to perfect.

Thanks for the feedback guys, Fred I'll shoot you a PM. I know he used to offer them Powder Coated, but I don't see it as an option anymore, hmmmm.

I may need to get them on the car and then think about PC next fall. It sounds like some scuffing issues on them though, so I am wondering if I am not better off keeping them with a brushed finish...

Aluminum is soft as does scuff, but also is pretty easy to buff. I did choose the brushed look because it does hide scuffs and my gauges bezels are brushed also. Polished would be okay also, since they'd be pretty easy to hit with Mother's and micro-fiber cloth. Whatever matches. IMO they really make the door sill look classy and finished.

Thanks for all the feedback guys, I couldn't help but take Fred up on his offer. Since they tend to scuff I don't think these are going to get sent to Rick for Powder, but... I did just get some 3M Dy-Noc Carbon fiber, it might be a good test of how well the stuff wraps around a bend.

I also ordered the brushed finish but buffed them a little. I wanted sort of a satin finish, half way between brushed and polished.

This is one of those details that I decided to put off during my initial build. After 12,000+ miles, the top painted edge of the chassis door openings are holding up well, since I and my passengers are careful not to scuff the bodywork lip with our shoes. Once that gets buggered to the point where I need to do something, then I might add this trim or something like it, but not till then.
