Frame Dimensions

I'd like to build my Chassis Dolly before my kit arrives. Could anyone be so kind as to confirm the dimensions I've been able to glean online and fill in the blanks A, B, C and D for me on this drawing.

A= 46.0"
B= 54.0"
C= 24.0"
D= 49.5"

One more thing if anyone knows off hand. How much does the bare chassis weigh. Can 2 men move it from the crate onto stands?

I don't know how much it weighs but it won't be delivered in a crate and the truck driver will off-load it for you with a pallet jack. Have your jack stands, etc. ready and he'll put it on them for you.

You are right Strip, usually there isn't a crate, unless Nick lives outside of the States. Then he would most likely have a crate.

Nick, it is always a good idea to post your location in your profile for us to see. You never know, there might be someone in your hometown building an FFR.

2 men can move the chassis. That would be 2 men that are used to some manual work. Otherwise, get 3 friends to help.

The bare chassis weighs 280#'s Two men can lift it and carry it a short distance. Once it's inside you can lift one end by yourself and anyone big enough to
heft a jackstand can place them for you. But my approach leaves all the jackstands free for other components.

Yes from Canada apparantly it will be in a very large crate when it arrives. I want to have a dollie made prior to its arrival so it can be moved around... working in a tight 2 car garage.

Glad to know it can be manhandled a bit

I have been there before with my Roaring Forties GT40 build and now with the 33 HR and my advice is this. Whatever dimensions you arrive at make sure that when the car is on the dolly it's at a height that you can be sitting down when working on it. I used the same dolly for both cars and compensated for the different dimensions with timber framing. Oh, and get a comfortable stool.
