It's been a long road but I finally feel like I can say I'm finished!
Although, we all know we are never really finished.

Have been on the road since November of last year and clocked about 5k miles.
Would like to say thanks to my wife, who said yes to this project and backed me all the way!
Don who gave me the confidence to begin and helped during every phase.
Dave Smith who called me three years ago in December and asked if I'd like to upgrade to a MK4 (Oh, Yea!). FactoryFive is a class act and made my dream of owning this car possible.
Lot's of friends along the way that helped whenever I needed an extra set of hands or special tools and everyone on the forum that answered my questions when I needed expert advice.
I know I couldn't have done this with out all of you.
So thank you all!!

I am just starting with the project. Here a couple of questions:

1. What is the color code for the color?
2. What top did you buy and how do like it?
3. What AC unit did you install and how well does it work. I keep hearing from some that it the AC units for these cars cannot keep up with the heat load.

The color code is indigo ink 8P4, the Top I purchased from http://www.cobrarestorers.com/ I liked that one because of the solid side windows. Haven't had a chance to put it through a real test so I'm sure I have some adjustments to do. The AC is vintage Air, the heat and AC really does extend the driving season. If your cruising down the highway without the top you can feel the cold air with your hands and it helps. If your sitting in traffic then it will cool you off. It blows very cold air and I don't regret putting it in, also installed defroster vents for when the Top is on. The dash is Tamo, a Japanese wood, and I really liked the way it turned out.

Congrats on the kit, just keep plugging away and it will be done before you know it.

You mention a soft top and tonneau (sp?). Do you have any pics of those in place? Don't take any special, only if you already have them!!

The color and hood louvers are great! Well done. Now drive the tires off of it!!

Here is a pic of the tonneau and softtop (before paint). I'm in the process of getting them modified to go over the roll bars.



thanks for the kind words. I did the top and heat/ac with defroster vents so I could make this my daily driver. So, far it's worked out pretty well. I only have to drive into work 2-3 days a week.

I see what you mean about the "solid" windows (side curtains) on the soft top! I am sure it makes a great difference. I also like the way it solves the partially open option with the sliding section. Very nice. Tonneau is great as well; seems to fit nice and snug, and will surely keep the sun off the interior and that beautiful dash!!

Thanks for responding. I had an old MGB with a soft and hard top, and was my DD for many years. I really miss that car, and when I build my Roadster hope to do the hard top, and am considering a soft top as well. Each has their own advantages and weaknesses.

You did a really awesome job, and I am sure you must be very proud-- or at least you BETTER be!! Enjoy your hard work, and thank you for your gracious response.

Hello Matt. the car looks great. I did mine the same colour. Its amazing how different it looks in direct sunlight as compared to a cloudy day.
How do you like the hood louvers? I gave a lot of thought to putting them on mine but didn't end up doing so. I wonder if they would keep some of the hot air out of the cockpit.

Yes, am very proud and feel good with how it turned out. I'm having a lot of fun driving it and giving people rides.

I love the hood louvers, The idea was since there is a big scoop in the front I wanted more area for the air to have somewhere to go at higher speeds. since I have heat and AC I worked very hard to seal the passenger compartment. I don't know if the louvers make a difference but I have very little air coming into the passenger compartment and the little I have I plan on tracking that down and sealing it.
