    Starter options for the Coyote?

Hey guys, I need to pick up a starter for the Coyote crate motor. I would prefer not to run a external solenoid(not on the starter).

I read recently that a 2011-2012 Mustang 5.0 starter would be a good option for that. Anyone have some tech they are willing to share on what the best starter options are?

I used the Powermaster heavy duty unit from Summit...a bit pricey but have had several previous starter failures on the challenge car with cheaper units. The nice thing about this unit is it has an adjustable base which allows you to rotate the starter for best fit...and frame clearance is very tight so adjustability is a virtue. This is the unit for the 2011 mustang.

Thanks... I saw that one... looks really nice and that's a top runner for sure Trying to decide if its worth 2x the 2005+ starter.

ok perhaps I am just slow, but what bolts did you use to install the starter? I don't have any for this and nothing lists the size.

I got the M-11000-MT164 Ford Racing starter but haven't installed it yet. It's a bit pricey compared to the stock one but it is the small diameter with rare earth magnets.

I bought the OEM bolt kit for mine from Latemodelrestoration.com part #HDW-11002E. They fit my power master starter on the Coyote perfectly.

What is the part number on that Powermaster unit. Summit is listing 107 options for a coyote with a manual trans.
