    Mk IV spindle changes

I was looking through the FF parts section and general looking around and have a question about the new MK IV spindle. Is the upper ball jt in a different location than where it was with the old Ford spindle/spindle adapter configuration? I am curious as to why this statement "This allows for a drastic improvement in cornering and handling characteristics over stock SN95 or Fox Mustang type spindles" is.

Yes it does... It reduces SAI several degrees. Reduces roll center and caster trail. In order to get the most benefit, you need to make sure you get the inner brackets that re-locates the inner pivot points if you don't have a Mk4. If you don't have a Mk4, you can make them, or contact Whitby motors and see if they will sell just the bracket for the SAI kit.

You didn't mention what FFR you are looking at/working on so I'll add a little detail. If it's a MkIV, the alternate UCA mounting point is built into the frame. If it's a MKIII or older then, as David says, you need the frame adapter brackets.
FFR MkII, 408W, Tremec TKO 500, 2015 IRS, DA QA1s, Forte front bar, APE hardtop.

Stick to a MkII 2.5 or better. Get a car with the backbone in the tunnel and at the very least a three link rear or better yet IRS.

Thank your for the advice David. I think I would really like an IRS version so that's one of my requirements. I want a car I can put some miles on so overdrive and a reasonable ride quality are most important.
