Childress High School 33 Hot Rod

We are a small school district in the Texas Panhandle. My students and I completed a roadster last year, our Rotary Club and Lions Club raffled it off and the district agreed to our building two cars this year. Dave Smith and the staff at FF helped get us lined out and we received our 33 Hot Rod and our 65 Daytona Coupe the first day of school. We are ready for first start up this morning. We will try to video it and post it. The boys and girls have been working hard this year. We will keep you up dated as to our progress.

Shop, welcome to the new board, look forward to following the new builds. I can't say again how fortunate I think those kids are to get to participate in something like this, really a great experience.

I saw the car here on the racks all ready to go. GREAT job with the kids and let me know if we can bring a bit more promotion to the amazing work you are doing. I was forced to make a pillow in home economics class... I still suffer the effects.

We just got our wheels in and the boys and girl went to the tire shop
to get them mounted and balanced. They look great.

I look forward to following the new build. The workmanship in the past has been first notch. Keep up the good work.

Ok, we are ready for first start this morning. Kids are cranked up to the max. Every teacher knows, every staff member in the office knows…. A math teacher came to me yesterday and said; "What are you doing down there?" I told him; "Applied Physics." We will record the first start and try to load it here later today. The kids will prop open the side door into the courtyard…. Open headers of course….. Shopboys love to start things.

Very Cool. My daughter (from Germany like me) spent a year in a Texan high school last year (Graham, TX to be exact). Unfortunately they did not have such a cool class there. Wish they had.

The start up went off without a flaw… Till the end of course. The kids loved it. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100000980977596

This is a quote from Dave's blog; [QUOTE]I was forced to make a pillow in home economics class... I still suffer the effects.[QUOTE] Is this why you go in for the soft stuff?
