After some much needed vacation the car is coming together nicely. While on vacation Schuster Paintworks fitted the hood, doors, and Trunk. Ohio inspection on the 25th!!!

Took the car today to get the VIN tag riveted, so it's almost legal. Tomorrow hopefully it goes well at the Title and Licence office.

Got the title and plates with no issues whatsoever!!...........................now we get to drive for a few weeks before the bad weather!!! Then the body comes off for paint during the winter. Feels great!!!

All fits, getting ready for hibernation! Body comes off in a few weeks then off to paint over the winter! Can't wait for spring!!!

Thank you Todd.....yes I am planning to go with sterling grey metalic (BMW color) with black stripes (non metalic) and red chasers. Also no I do not have any cooling issues, though I have not been in any real hot weather. In 70's it has never gone over 165 degrees. I am not running a t-stat, I run a restrictor.

The color should look great. Please tell me more about running a restrictor.....are you planning on not running a termostat at all?

I will have to see how hot it gets in the summer when it is 80-90s out. But I probably will not run a T-Stat at all, I would change the size opening in the restrictor. A restrictor allows you to change the flow rate through the cooling system determined by the size of the opening. It changes the length of time the water is in the radiator/engine which in turn determines the cooling ability (longer in the radiator/engine more coolling -smaller restrictor opening, less time in the radiator/engine less cooling - bigger restrictor opening). Basically restricting coolant flow leaving the engine lets you control the amount of heat absorbed by the coolant.

As long as I can get/keep the engine to a proper running temp in the summer I will not run a t-stat. I don't mind running cool in the spring and fall, but don't want to run hot in the summer. I want to be able drive the car 2-3-4- hours down the freeway.

My E39 M5 is that color, awesome pick for a Cobra, and I can't wait to see the rest of the build.

Some with color, getting a bit excited.

3 coats of silver, 3 coats of clear last night…………..now it sits outside for a couple weeks, then gets color sanded, then 3 more coats of silver and 5 coats of clear, then color sand, then buffed.

Thanks for the updated pics; she looks awesome!!

I love the colors. The body seems to reflect the wheel color contrast with the darker and brighter aspects. The red stripe is perfect!

Enjoy the power tour. I hope you enjoy her now that she's ready for the ball! Congratulations.

Ordered May '13............Received and began working on the car 1st week of June '13. Registered, Inspected, Vin'd, driving late August '13.....................sat for the winter. Began paint Feb '14 and completed 1st week of June '14

I really enjoyed reading and seeing all of the posts on this forum as well as ffcars. You have corrupted me several times with upgrades and additions to my build. Your technical help and insight has been most influential. Loved every minute of this build. My only wish was that some of the piece parts from FFR (Chinese made) we of better quality for what we paid, but I also understand they are in the business to make money.

Beautiful build. My kit arrives sometime in early Dec and I have already ordered a 550 ho 427w with a TKO 600 but am undecided on the clutch. What clutch did you put in your car and how does it drive at low speeds?
