loop the hoses... you can reduce the friction by removing the piston seal as well. If you remove the seal, you don't need to loop the lines, you can plug them...

there is a de-powering the rack thread somewhere on this forum, pre-05 rack is one style, 05-07 is another

remove the end cap, push out the rack
remove the seal, you don't need to remove the whole piston
    grease
    reassemble
    plug the two line ports

note: the fluid was not used for lubrication, the rack slides vs bushings on each end

3 gorgeous 818s' going to SEMA! I can't even decide which one I like the best. FFR, Wayne and Eric have all set the bar so high for us "budget" builders. Sales of this kit are bound to go through the roof after SEMA. Outstanding job to all of the early builders. Keep the pictures coming.

Those are the new panels, the uphostery guy has some bad glue and he had to improvise. After SEMA the panels are going to be recovered, they looked great but the wouldn't stick on the fiberglass pockets. So he whipped out some panels that needed nearly no glue.

Nice job on the interior- love the dash and the steering column cover.

Could you answer a couple of questions?

What are the bars in front of the seat? They look like part of the frame?

Why the exposed aluminum panels in the lower door frame and upper door frame where the door latches? Just not quite completed for the evening or is it a design issue?

Maybe I'm not following what you mean on the door panels- these are the new panels, but not quite as they come from the factory?

Great color, great job on documenting the build. Appreciate the input!

Got ya Wayne. They looked different when you compare them to the finished appearance of the white 818S in the yahoo video that's why I made the comment. Cool can't wait to see the way it looks after SEMA. Very impressive build

You reuse the WRX side and rear view mirror and have decent rear views.

I had the car vacuumed and started to fit the FFR stock cover panels and I wanted a little more coverage. Got out the poster paper, cut a template and transfered it to a sheet of aluminum, cut them out on the band saw, bent it in the brake and covered it with matching carpet. 20 minutes on the first and 10 on the second.

Dang!!!!! Full treatment. On a serious note. Now much fab work in total hours spent? Brackets etc not included in kit. Do you guys report your findings back to FF. So they can add those items to future kits?

I didn't keep track of hours to build the car as I built the GRM car in the middle of it. Tons of feedback went back to FFR and were incorporated into the new kits.
