Boyd Tank / Not moving firewall back

Is the rear firewall required to be right in front of the tank to provide structural support? I have the Boyd tank, but it looks like I won't need the added leg room. So, if I install the firewall in the original location, there will be about 3" between the firewall and the tank. Would this cause any issues and are the supplied 2 bottom and 2 top bolts strong enough to fully support the tank?

    Thanks!
