Another (lame) update: My parts are supposed to be done Thursday or Friday. We'll see. I'm currently shopping around for a new shop to get milled and turned parts made at in the future. The laser cutting shop is excellent, this shop....they haven't delivered me anything yet. I can't compete with the large race teams which demand 2 day turn arounds or they'll go somewhere else.

Ok awesome! If you want let him know his best friend Adam from New England referred you. If you need his cell number message me and I will give it to you.

For those of you still waiting, the shop has finished the lathe work, starting the mill work tonight. If all goes well, parts will be ready Monday. I still have to assemble the dipsticks, but the rest will be done.

Sounds good, thanks for the update. I'm still in.
Word is he's definitely losing money on this job. He broke a $200 thread milling bit. New one did show up. I saw the parts. He's maybe 50% done. He had to get a full time day job to cover bills at home.

Craig, thanks for the update, I look forward to a receiving the parts once you have had a minute to test fit.

Hey there! I have a blog that I'm running for my husband's 818 build (Mike Baker) and we have used several of your products. I just wanted to let you know that we have mentioned you in several posts recently. Check them out at www.bakerproject818.com.
Awesome! Thanks for the mention.
I just got another batch of these parts in. They'll go into the tumbler tomorrow and be ready to ship out by Wednesday night.

Fer'reals... I wanna order this bracket
Last edited by ruckus racing; 05-06-2014 at 11:50 PM.
So since my engine/trans are now in the frame, I went to install the bracket and the air intake seems to be in the way of the tank now that it is repositioned, do I assume that I have to change out the air intake to a different setup anyway ? Also I have the metal tank, and at the bottom of the tank I have s support mount that went to the injector protector guards, I assume the tank will be fine with the single support now ?

re: Intake
I don't have a stock intake and didn't think to test it with that setup. I'm not sure how many people are using the stock intake, but don't recall seeing any. My guess is that most are changing the intake as this is the first I've heard of this bracket having stock intake issues. How much is the interference? If it's slight I can try to make you a bracket that will work with the stock intake (free of charge).
re: Support
Yes, it will be fine. On my DD WRX I relocated the tank to the strut tower and mounted it using the same two mounting points only. In the 3 years I had it there I saw no ill effects to the structure of the tank. Prior to that I had removed the guards for 3 years and didn't use piece. Removing the guards (GBOD: green bracket of death) is common in the Subaru community.

Here is a picture of the stock intake and the bracket, so you can see that it will interfere with the tank

Does the body of the tank hit or just the support that extends down? I cut my support off for a cleaner look. How much interference is there so I know how much to pull it back. I'll check in my basement for a stock I take to test with.

So looks like it is just hitting the support that extends down, so if I cut that off I should be good to go, it is close to the tank body but should clear it.

Let me know if that doesn't work. I went and played with mine a little last night and have some ideas of how I can move the position a little bit. I don't mind making a one off to make sure you're happy with it.

Hi where do I go to look at your awesome oil fill tubes, I need one with a cap. Also what is the story on the dip stick? I got a new, when I ordered the STI oil pan?
Oil fill caps are here. I should still have 1 or 2 in stock. All of them come with a cap and tube.

Dipsticks are here (can't find my post on this forum). I have machined caps in stock but don't have any assembled. It will take a couple days to get that completed. They're assembled differently for 2.0 and 2.5L sticks so I need to know which one you're replacing.

I trimmed my plastic tank exactly like you did Craig! :-) The dipstick is oil pan dependent not displacement, correct?
Anyone with "racing" aspirations should NOT run a stock 2.0 Turbo pan, No clue re the NA pans....

Okay check your Private Messages. I have a 2.0 with the STI pan. Thanks Don
I just got 10 more coolant brackets in stock. However, it's a new revision! It gives more clearance for the FPR line (one person noted on their car it was close and they wanted more clearance) and it gives more clearance for the stock intake. I'm not sure if you can get away without cutting off the mounting tab though. The design is slightly different as well. Instead of being swoopy, it's now more angular with a big "0" in the middle. Pics to follow.
