Mustang donor years question for FFR.

What years mustang will work as donor for engine, trans and rear for the 65 coupe. I see certain ones for the roadster and others for the coupe. Could you clarify for me. I am looking at ordering a coupe in the next few weeks and want to find a donor. Thanks.

Damn Wallace, can I come live with you? I would be looking for a new place to live if I even so much as had a thought about another car.

Sorry if I seem thick headed. I can read what the brochure says for donors. However the roadster lists 1987-2004 as donor and the coupe 1987-1993. Is there a reason why? That is why I am asking FFR. I have seen a later engine in a coupe. I just want clarity from FFR. Thanks.

The donor concept is based on the idea that a drivetrain "package" will drop in without modification. The 94 and later Mustang components can be made to fit the coupe but will not just bolt in as the 93 and earlier will. It may need hood modifications depending on the engine or serious footbox modification. Frame mods for later transmissions is also a concern. 94 and later rear end assemblies also started to grow wider which for the coupe is not as much of a deal breaker but..............

The 4.6 engine does not fit easily under the hood of the coupe so we have not extended the donor platform to those years. Many of the parts would still work but it would take some fabrication and body changes to use everything.
