    Critique my safety wiring

    I'm working on safety wiring the Wilwood 2 piece rotors. This is my first attempt at safety wiring so I'd appreciate a little constructive feedback. After all 4 sets are done I plan on dabbing a little of the red threadlocker on the ends of the twisted wiring. This is of course in addition to red threadlock on the bolt threads themselves per Wilwood's recommendation.

    I would do more twists per inch. Also, it looks like your second bolt is neutral (meaning the force from the safety wire is neither tightening or loosening).

    Noted on the twists. The second set I did was much tighter, I may go back and re-do these ones.

    The bolts that I'm using have holes every 90*, so 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00. I originally wanted to use a 6:00-9:00 orientation but couldn't get the wire through the bolt due to the aluminum hub. I went with this anyways because as I see it any way the bottom bolt turns it's going to tighten the top bolt.

    I agree about getting a few more twists on the wire. Regardless of what position the bolt holes are oriented, you'd want to make sure that the safety wire on each pair of bolts are run opposite to each other; meaning that if one bolt starts to loosen up, the wire will put pressure on the other bolt in the tightening direction. The way to do this is by forming a reverse "S". If you do it in the other orientation, it won't work, and you may end up with two loose bolts. Have fun.

    I'll stick to doing 2 bolts at a time.

    Seems to be getting easier though.
