Question What community member made "Must Have" parts should be on the AEM 818R for SEMA?

I already have the stainless clutch line from Replica Parts, seat brackets from ZF Designs, and an AMAZING harness from iWire, what else should people see on there?

For those that don't know, Six Star Cars is building an 818R for AEM Intakes for SEMA this year.

Here's the artists rendering that was selected as the final version. Branding will be in different places but the color is set.

Love the paint job. I'm going with different colors, but looking forward to seeing this one done to get a full view.

As for parts, there is the VCP intercooler and anything titanium from zero decibels that are on my buy list still.

I have some items for sale if you search "zero decibel". However, in exchange for some marketing exposure I'd love to make some other one off or prototype parts. I can't charge for parts I make personally but am allowed to make things and not charge for them.

    Visual items?

Wayne at very cool parts has a K-tuned shifter kit that is very pretty.

Rori has a billet aluminum shifter bracket that is equally nice.

Those are the first two that come to mind.

So AEM is having an 818R made... this is interesting I wonder if they will come up with an intake that would be suitable for our car then.

Are you planning for this to be a closed design (ie: hoods/covers all installed) or an open design?

Agreed... the machined Al of each of these pieces is SEMA bling worthy. Also, Craig's (Mechie3) oil filler, dipstick and coolant tank bracket are all nice. What are you using for an alternator bracket? The stock piece looks dorky if you remove the AC and PS. Mike sells a kit with a powdercoated bracket and nice turnbuckle for tensioning the belt.

I am working with K&N (parent company) and their R&D department on an intake. The prototype will be on the car. It's going to come off the turbo inlet and turn down using a long filter to take full advantage of the inlet on the side of the car.

More info please! We're planning on making our own but if there's an OTS solution I'm all for it.

    Two words..... CLEAR HOOD.

I'm having a company in Denver make us a clear lexan engine cover just for SEMA. Should be AWESOME!

I'm up for anything so long as it doesn't tear into the budget too much more, it can't take a ton of time to install, and it can't conflict with my current sponsors.

I'm using the old Impreza L no AC bracket, it's STI pink. On the other side I'm just leaving the PS pump bracket on there.

Ditch the bracket. See if Mike will sell you just the turnbuckle in place of the PS bracket. Looks much much nicer.

Well done, those are very nice.

My only concern is we're trying to use a Legacy SS radiator and the hoses attach in a slightly different place. The upper mounts are silly too, it's still a MAYBE at this point. Trying to get Koyo to send me a shiny new radiator for the car but so far no luck.

Upper mounts are silly as in a different location or what? I have some mounts that I've made, but don't know what an SS legacy radiator looks like.

I'm going to also hijack my own thread here since I have the attention of a few key builders!

Anyone with an R that's done the interior, what are we doing with the dead pedals? FFR didn't send me the one triangle piece for each side, but I did get the dead pedal and the coolant cover. Since the R frame is 90 degrees from the floor and doesn't come in at an angle like the S they really don't fit.

Quite a few of the aluminum pieces for the S don't fit the R, but FF5 sent them along anyway.

I cut the flange off the upper piece. Then added another piece of aluminum siding inside halfway back (I put the siding on the outside on the rear half so the tubing would show and to provide the passenger with a handhold). I added a piece of 1/16" angle under the dead pedal to add some beef for a passenger to brace himself, and some diamond plate on top for that industrial look.

Thanks, that's our plan basically, finish it off simple and incorporate the dead pedal on both sides.

SixStar. I have an upper hose that will work with that radiator. I am using a similar one myself.

There is also a gentleman (Vman7) in the forum who has generously provided the hardtop design which is the basis for the hardtop design for the 818.
He is trying to get a design consulting service off the ground and i wish him great success. He has been very generous across the entire forum.
See his design in Dave's latst update:
    https://www.factoryfive.com/whats-ne...ne-production/

I have personally benefited from Mechie, and Mike Everson, The Race Line, Wayne Presley, and Timmy318 with the group RaceLogic TCS buy and AJW Performance.

Others have also been generous with help. (Please exuce the slightly off topic but: Thanks for helping me unload my 818 NHRed65! and metalmaker12 has been very generous in help!

What a great group of people we have in this community! Thank you all!
