    Wink #7479 Build Thread

I picked it up 4/2, talked to Dave Smith at the factory, really cool guy, toured the factory, great chatting to him. After that we loaded it and drove it home 75 miles. Wife was really happy and jumped in.

It kept me busy so far, I figured it was time to post the first day pictures.

    I'm really enjoying it.

    Next steps

I'm waiting for the tubular front lower control arms from FFR, the ball joins were back ordered when I picked up the kit, still waiting for it.

In the main time I got everything ready to just drop it in as soon as that gets here.

    1) Mounted the brackets on the spindles(had to use the grinder on the spindles bc the bracket wouldn't fit, it was easy anyway)
    2) Got the Rear and front coil overs assembled
    3) Did the 3 link conversion on the rear
    4) Started working on the dash, need to figure out how I want to setup the different switches.

    Some pics.

Now that is a engine hoist! You may not realize how lucky you are to have that!

    Cool Some more pics.

Thanks, I agree they don;t build things like in the 70s anymore, I'm very lucky to have access to a good hoist, my step father is the actual owner, the best part is that you can put it all apart and throw it in a pick up with almost no effort and yes it holds this engine and tranny easily without getting tipsy.

I got some more stuff done today.
-Bent the clutch and brake pedals to have more space in between them, they were too close for my taste.
-Had to grind the top of the gas pedal it was hitting the clutch plastic thing on the pedal box.
-Attached the alternator and power steering
    -fuel rail and injectors
-started plugging EFI Harness into what I have already setup.
-Needed to pick up a new belt, I had a 73" for the AC removal but didnt realize my donor came with under pulleys so I had no tension on the belt, picked up a 71.5" and it installed like a dream.

I took Tuesday of at work so I should be able to get some more done. The front lower control arms should arrive on Monday so I will have some more things to play with this week.

Goal is first start end of next weekend and go Kart the weekend after it, keeping fingers crossed.

    Some more pics from today.
