    Stewart Warner Electric Fuel Pumps

For those that want to pursue originality in their builds, adding a SW 240A fuel pump in the trunk is the prefect addition. It doesn't have to be functional.

the 289 race cars used a mechanical pump and also the Stewart a Warner electrical pump. I believe it was used when the main fuel dropped below a certain level necessitating switching over to the electrical to make it back to the pits. I'm not 100% certain but in the pictures I've seen there is a switch located on the dash that is marked "MAIN" and "RESERVE".

I picked one up today on ebay. I plan to refurbish it and install it in the trunk but non-functional

Thinking of actually using now as a primer for the mech fuel pump.

All done. Repainted the main body matte gold. Cleaned the bowl, bowl retainer, top plate, and pump mounting bracket with 0000 steel wool.

Replaced the top mounting screws with SSTL button head screws

I know this is an old post but there are still a lot of folks out here that are trying to rebuild these pumps. It would be great to have readable versions of any of the original service instructions available online. Anybody out there willing to post high quality photos or scans of these service documents?
