    Can I Do This?

My build uses a fuel tank that sits in the area behind the the seats like an original. However, there is only 0.5" of room between the tank inlet tube and the body. Adding the Lemans filler will cause interference. I want to modify my tank by lowering a portion of the tank as noted to give me the necessary clearance to attach a rubber fuel hose to the gas filler and the tank

    Thanks
    Bill

Your mod is going to change the capacity of the tank but there is no reason you can't do it. If you are careful in cutting it and manage to keep the removed part in one piece, you could simply invert it and have it welded back in.

Is that a tank or fuel cell? If there is a liner or foam, take great care when cutting or welding.

If you do have a fuel cell and need a new rubber bladder you can have custom ones made by companies such as Fuel Safe. Just give them a drawing with all necessary dimensions and they send you a new bladder and foam.

    No bladder or foam.

I've come up with a better solution that doesn't require cutting the tank but thanks for the responses
