    !!!Alert!!! Stuck Throttle Cable !!!Alert!!!

Everyone using the cable style throttle assembly should check the alignment of the cable to insure that it is not pulling at an angle. A friend of mine was driving his MKIII and the throttle stuck in the open position. After inspecting, it was discovered that the cable, overtime, was sawing into the soft aluminum fitting. It reached a point where the cable jammed itself into the slot that was being cut. He had presence of mind to push in on the clutch and turn the engine off before crashing or destroying the engine. Pictured, is the foot box side that attaches to the pedal.
    CHECK IT!!!!!!

This is not unusual but difficult to notice due to it's location. I ended up drilling another hole in the firewall maybe 3/4-1 inch lower to get mine to work smoothly.
