David you might enjoy a look at the engine turned dash. You can appreciate the hours of time this involved. B17517F5-EA33-4E27-9E9B-8BF4E556E597.jpg

Paul you were a great help throughout my build.
David it was your engine turned prowess that led me to choose the dash finish.
As far as the license plate- well that’s a coined phrase from Dave Kindig of Kindig design (see the Velocity channel).
“Building custom cars is *****en”.
FFR’s says “Built not bought”. I will add- during an FFR build you will have fun and meet a lot of great folks allong the way. All true.
If you want to really enjoy a car, build a Factory Five, I did and I love my FFR Roadster!!
Not intending to hijack your thread, but my question goes along with the 20th Anniversary limited edition cars. I have one of four de-badged 20th Anniversary cars that Dan and FFR offered to people that did not make the cut when it was announced that there were only several 20th kits left.
This rare Stealth Edition only lacks the white powder coated chassis and the 20th badges. Mine resides in Maine and will reach the 5000 mile mark before the snow flies.
A big thank you to Dan for making it happen. I feel I have a really special car.
Hey everyone. I was wondering if any of the 20th Anniversary owners had a problem with missing the Chrome package when you got your kits 3 years ago. Specifically I'm asking about the Chrome roll bar. The kit that I just purchased has been stored very neatly and organized for the past 3 years and in fact, none of the boxes were even opened until just this month when the previous owner was looking to send me some photos of the documents and such before I made the 270 mile drive to see and purchase the kit. So here is what I'm facing. According to the inventory list, the DS Chrome Roll Bar was suppose to be in box 10B. Well as you can see by the attached photos, 10B was not big enough for the bars, but it did have EVERYTHING listed except the bars themselves. Now, I know it is way past the initial time to complete an inventory and identify missing items, but if it was a common problem then perhaps I can get FFR to help. As of now, they are not willing. Thanks for any input you can share. FYI, FFR is going to send the chrome bumpers that were also missing as they do not show them as ever having shipped.

My Box 10B had the same exact parts list as you're showing (roll bar hoop, leg, and hardware) and all were included with the initial kit delivery. As you said, that box isn't big enough for the roll bar. My box 10B was the same larger size box as most of the other kit boxes. That small box picture with the original marking would seem to be good evidence. But it's also been a couple years and well beyond the official time to claim shortages. Tough situation. It's too bad the original purchaser didn't at least take the time to do an inventory. I've never had a kit delivery that wasn't missing something. And not always minor.

So #8 of 20, 20th Anniversary Factory Five Mk4 Roadster 8690 is 100% street legal and the fun begins/continues. I'm excited to say that I'll be driving it in Gel Coat for the next several months and then it is off to Jeff K for his amazing paint/body work to finish it off. And for anyone keeping track, I picked it up on Aug 18th, 2018 and it is street legal on Feb 22nd, 2019... 6 months.... can't wait to get the paint on it, but Jeff says I have to.

Hey guys, time to graduate #9 of 20 FFR 8692.
Working on creating a thread with some more photos. Hopefully this one loads.
Can't seem to figure out how to post pictures from the ones I uploaded in gallery to thread. Will research a little more and try again

on another note, I saw Dave at the build school in April and then after went to the shop in MA. Dave gave me the tour of the shop and said that the black roadster in the shop is 000 because they oversold by 1. apparently sales did the same thing with the 15th anniversary edition also . . . he said he is not sure if they will do the same for 25th coming soon, if they do it wont be by accident this time
Awesome photo Paul... Cant wait to get mine painted and "graduated" I think there are only about 6 -8 of the 20th on the road... Yours looks fantastic...
