The Traveler is ... traveling again!
Pittsburgh here I come... just in time for the upcoming ... cough... cough... white stuff ya'All call snow!
You know I just can't even find 295/60x17 snow tires for the ol Mark I! I tried!! Was even considering buying a hard top or one of FFR's new softtops to keep driving it through the ... what you call the winter! Heat in the car is not an issue, it's traction control with out snow tires!
Thus an alternate driving solution will need to be explored soon! But in the meantime while the roads are clear, in a few days I'll be buzzing around the highways in the outskirts of Pittsburgh! I seem to remember another season called Fall/Autumn that I hope to get to enjoy once more.
Side exhausts blowing the leaves off the roadway as I drive along way back in the day when we lived in Maine.

Working your way North huh Ralph... We would love to see you in Maine again, when I last saw your car it didn't have 50,000 miles! You want narrower snow tires anyway to allow the tread to cut down through the snow! Perhaps a 245-70 -17 ! ;-)

with 9.5" rims on the rear my choices are some what limited. I thought about getting a set of "other" rims to use in the winter. I have 4 bolt rims so was even thinking about buying a set of the OEM 15" rims - from someone's build and use them for winter. But, by the time I added up a new top, used rims, 4 new tires, it was cheaper to get a used 4x4 here. Lots of used SUV 4x4's here with no rust.
It would be fun to drive the ol'Mark I in the winter though.
