    Transaxle

    Hello
    Brain storming about an unconventional build. Has any any one attempted a trans axle or sequential gear box? Also has anyone built an ultra light 33?

    One builder has already put the entire C6 drivetrain including torque tube and transaxle in his 33, Glenn Sommers did a very nice job with that car.
    A basic 33 is around 2400 lbs so other than a 4cyl engine to shave a couple hundred not sure what else could be done with it short of an all aluminum chassis and that
    part of the FF is the only part that is really unique, the rest is just donor parts.

    That is probably the most cost effective option. Thanks for the reply. I am considering a few engine options. Hartley v8 or something similar. Would you have an opinion on the best IRS?
