So my car weighs abt the same as Bob's, but I have no dry sump or add on bumpers. Starting to wonder if the scales I was weighed on were wrong lol. I don't get why my car is so pudgy!

I don't think any of that really weighs much. I have none of that installed on mine yet either.

Yes, I was at 1851, with dry sump, wrap, dash, etc. so not sure if I am still in the lead or if I have fallen off

So I was working on my challenge car over the weekend, making sure it is ready for the season and was doing the alignment and cross balance and looks like the challenge car is about 500 lbs more than the 818R, so I'm about 100lb over the minimum of 2400 for the challenge car

I'm now at 1,796 after a winter diet (Flywheel, fans, winder-shield washer, different wheels+tires, misc trans and engine brackets.) Probably still a few pounds left in replacing the seats and battery.

FFR's 818R with oils, fluids and no gas 1956 lbs, exactly 60/40 weight R/R distribution. R/L distribution is 50.2/49.8 with me in it.

We have a new winner!
And an S too!
I'll edit your listing, post up your new corner weights if you get a chance too.

If you have a standard battery you can lose 20lbs with a LI-Ion battery. I've learned a great deal about them the last few months.... if you decide to go that route be very careful. I'm a dealer for EarthX batteries now. They are primarily in the aircraft market but are making a push for the automotive racing market.

Didn't realize the batteries had gotten that light. I'll definitely have to give it more consideration now seeing as my donor battery is at least ten years old anyway. Do you still need a special trickle charger for the li-ion?

Seats should be in within a few weeks so I'll do a full update then.

In danger of threadjacking my own thread, but:
It depends!
From EarthX on their batteries:
In the event you have to charge the battery, use a Lithium (LiFePO4) battery charger or a lead-acid battery charger that does not charge above 14.6V, will automatically turns off when the battery is fully charged (based on volts) and does not have a de-sulfate mode. Do not use any charger with voltage that pulses above 15V! This will damage the battery. If in doubt, consult the manual that comes with your charger.

For chargers with a maintenance mode, the maintenance mode voltage should be 13.3V – 13.9V. For example, the Battery Tender JR has a maintenance mode voltage of 13.3V which is compatible, whereas the original Battery Tender or Battery Tender Plus has a maintenance mode voltage of 13.2V which is too low for a lithium battery. Please read the manual that comes with your charger.

There's more at this link including a list of chargers that will , and those that will not, work:
http://earthxbatteries.com/our-batte...ttery-charging

The Tenergy LiFePO4 Battery Pack Charger is on the list and is also recommended by InduraPower who I met at the PRI show.

Alright - full report from the summer tweaks.
Phil1734
818S
(lbs)
1793 (lbs)
372
395
526
500
2.5NA, Gen2 nose, Post #95 for full specs
Full specs: 2003 TS Wagon donor. 13lb flywheel. Everything from kit installed except carpet and parking brake boot. Mostly vinyl wrapped interior. Wiper kit. iWire harness. Rocker extensions and big fiberglass hooptie wing/third brake light mount. FFR wheels. Kirkey intermediate road race seats. Momo Quark steering wheel. Not a single fan on it, including the radiator. Just some crafty ducting. Still have a lead-acid boat anchor up front to start the thing. No radio or anything that could be accidentally construed as a "luxury."

Because of the variations in full tanks that are used, I topped off and subtracted 78lbs (12 gallons) worth of fuel according to my weight distribution. Not an industry standard, but it allows better comparison to other builds and everybody is reporting with a random fuel load anyway. So technically curb weight is 1,871, but that doesn't sound as nice.

P.S. Anyone over 2400lbs (coupes) on a stock WRX engine have a worse hp/lb ratio than my car.

Thanks Phil. I edited the table with your new info. Great to see an NA Build coming in nice and light!
Although Tony is still the leader because his weight includes 7 gals of fuel.

For sure.

I might get him if I switch to Li-ion and finish trimming the body. I swear FFR mixes depleted uranium dust into their fiberglass resin.

If you go Li-ion: I'm a EarthX dealer and can get you one at a good price. PM me. They have features you won't find in the cheap ones, their major market is aircraft where failure is not an option!

I added Brando's 818R. This is the weight with a dry sump, the car today no longer has the dry sump.

Also edited the table with Hindsight's new numbers.

I reset the ride height after it settled a bit on the HB Cruise in drive. Borrowed a set of scales today and I was closer than I hoped it would be. No fender liners yet, but full tank of gas.

2043 total, 426 FL, 448 FR, 589 RL, 580 RR

Initially I figured this would be about the weight. Then when the halo was done and we weighed it in Go Kart mode I thought the final weight would be 90 lbs lighter. I didn't factor in enough weight for coolant, fuel, oil, the duct work, and the DS pump - tank.

Interestingly it only added 15 lbs mre than when Brando had it with a dry sump. I attribute that to my swapping the PC680 battery for a EarthX Lithium Ion, and removing the passenger seat.
If anyone wants more info on EarthX batteries i'll be happy to help ou, I'm an authorized dealer. The one in my 8818R weighs 5lbs and has way more crank power than a PC 680 style battery. I'll post a vendor page in the Electrical section.

990 kg / 2,183 lbs

Scale had a 70kg variance, wasn't 0'd out.

Stock seats, no interior, full tank of fuel.

There is about 50lbs extra in steel due to bumper construction to pass inspection.
