Not sure I can get there Tony being 190lb's but believe me I am doing all I can to save a few ounces here and there, I have even lost 20lb.

I believe the R chassis is a bit heavier but we don't use the door hardware, the doors are bolted to the side sail and rocker. Like Tony I am running a 15 gallon cell (mine is in the passengers seat area) a JDM header is 15lb lighter than the cast iron OE exhaust, small 10"X3" muffler, all tube rear links, AP brakes and hats (almost -40lb from OE brakes) 3.5lb battery, Iwire harness, rear firewall and fuel cell firewall is 15lb lighter than FFR's, Steering shaft 10+lb lighter than OE, Wilwood pedal box is a lot lighter than OE, 9lb flywheel, mounts, tabs and brackets are aluminum or thin wall 4130, no e-brake mechanism or cables and I am running one 10" fan are a few things I have done.
I am getting the car back together and will have back on the scales in the next week, Had on the scales a few weeks ago with the rear fascia and hood off the car, I believe I will be little lighter than Tony when all back together. Now I am excited to get it back on the scales.

Hmmm, now doing all of the above that Mitch, Tony, and Retro have done, then swap in a NA 2.5i. No Turbo, No Intercooler. 17" wheels with 245 tires (Enkei PF01 + BFG GFR1 = 40 lbs vs Rota 18 x 9.5 + Toyo RA1 275/35/18 = 49 lbs) and we're getting down to a really light and fast little car that will be cheap to operate. Maybe under 1,700 lbs with no driver.
This is getting better all the time!

If I were to do it again (Which I have no desire to ) I would go 2.5L NA for sure. It would be so much simpler, & lighter.

So I did my corner weights yesterday and seems the car is at a 45% front and 55% rear weight distribution with me in the car.

Finally set the car on the scales, got the alignment done still a little work to do with me in the car but not in bad shape. Was really shooting for sub 1800lb. Got close but not quite, winter project. Wet with 5 gallons of fuel, I am pleased. 1816lb, 2005lb with me sitting in the car with gear.
    IMG_2310.JPGIMG_2311.JPG
I running 235/40X17's BFG R1S's on 8"TSW wheels up front and 265/35X18 BFG R1S's on Enki 9.5X18 rear. The 25lb tony has on me must be the wheels and tires. LOL

I will re-weigh soon as I have added a few items but also I have removed some items, I don't expect much change. Really nice job coming in that low. I see you have similar x-balance, I'm not real happy with weight distribution with the rear being so heavy, I'm sure I will have to use brake bias to reduce front.

I have tweaked the front caster and camber on the right front and reset the toe. Once done I am going back on the scales with 1/2 tank and full tank of fuel to see where I am and then work on getting the rear corners closer.
As a go-kart playing around on the skid pad I was able to play around with brake bias, I did 2 1/2 turn to the rear (Had the bar centered) to get all lock close on all 4 wheels. That was on rock hard tires that were the same size, I am sure it will take some tuning with better rubber and bigger rubber on the rear.

Great job!!! I must admit that I'm a little disappointed with our weight, but with air jacks and a 30 gallon cell, I shouldn't be. Oh well, more power.........

2095lbs. 818S, Enkei RPF1 wheels, AWIC, remote oil cooler, momo racing seats, full interior with no carpet, ABS, 100% full tank of gas, bigger roll bar, custom 3" exhaust, 5 speed. Those are all the things/mods that may contribute to weight. 65 or 70 of those pounds are fuel. So pretty close to 2,000.

No, I didnt want them to yet. I am switching springs and raising the height from the 4" I am at now to the full 4.5" so I am not scraping as bad. Once all that is done, I will go back to have the cross weight dialed in.

I'll have to weigh it again when the car comes back to Maryland. The only data I have is on the old turbo with low fuel, no wing, no driver, no safety gear and it was

    359 438
    624 529

    1950 total

Huge difference! It was on Rota Grids with bald 235 street tires, no splitter, no diffuser, no door mirrors. The little things add up.

Phil I'm VERY interested to see how your car performs with an NA engine. I can't wait to see some lap times and track videos!

Geez, why is my car so chubby?!? We have the same wheels (though I do have 18s in the back), and I have the same full tank of gas and street windshield. You say "STI AWIC" - do you mean STI A2AIC? But even if you have an air to air, the A2W I have is only 50lbs, which doesn't explain the difference in weight of over 200lbs.

Me too. I have about 500 shake-down miles on it now but it's going into storage for winter within the next few days. Hopefully Santa brings me a new clutch and some sticky tires and it'll be off to Gingerman in the spring.

It's the same track that FFR did the initial press days at with the 818R. I've never seen a time posted but I'm sure someone somewhere has one. If not I have plenty of other benchmarks to go off of from there.

With full aero it added a tad over 200 lbs (body, wing (and support), splitter/diffuser) if I remember correctly

AAIC** Oops! So, I don't have a splitter or wing yet ($), I don't have front fender liners, and in this measurement I didn't have my windshield wiper. Did that help in the difference?

Santa claus brought some scales early.

    Weighed our 818S today.

    20160514-256A03431010ths-ZF-9647-89984-1-001-008c.jpg

Things that affected the weight compared to a stock 818S
Front 14 gallon tank was full.
Front internal bumper (approx. 50 Lbs)
Rear internal bumper (approx. 50 Lbs)
Kirkey race seats (no seat brackets)
    AWIC System
    Dry Sump System
Stock front heavy cast iron Calipers on all four corners.
Stock front heavy rotor on all four corners.
    50% larger roll bar.
    10lb agm battery near transmission
    No Carbon installed yet.

    By the numbers
    FL 428 20.6%
    FR 443 21.3%
    RL 612 29.4%
    RR 598 28.7%
    Total 2081

    Front 871 41.9%
    Rear 1210 58.1%

    Right 1041 50.0%
    Left 1040 50.0%

    FL+RR 1026 49.3%
    FR+RL 1055 50.7%

Not bad for a car that we using a caliper to measure the length of the springs to set the balance.

Thanks Bob. I updated the table to include both your Go Kart mode and nearly final weights are listed so builders can judge where they are at during the build process.
    Merry Christmas Everyone!

Looks like Tony may Win the 2016 Lightest 818 award!

Now if Phil's car were an R instead of an S Tony would have some dieting to do.....

Any more contenders coming in to unseat Tony for 2016?

    What's the prize?

I have a cordless Dewalt and a box of drill bits if you make it worth my time.
