    Coupe Questions

I am getting ready to purchase another Factory Five. I had a 33 Hot Rod and I'm trying to choose between the Coupe or the Roadster for my next build. I've seen numerous Roadsters at shows, sat in a few and talked with the owners, however I've never actually laid my eyes on a Coupe. I'm in Northern California and will be attending the Cruise-in at Huntington Beach in April and I hope to see several Coupes there. I do have a couple questions I hope I can get answers to here.
    1. How stable is the tilt front end when fully open, while opening and closing? Does it lineup and latch easily when closing?
    2. Is there a roll up driver and passenger side window option, or has anyone installed them?
    3. I want to run 15 inch pin drive wheels with the three link suspension. I know its possible on the Roadster, is it on the Coupe?
    4. Has anyone installed a/c in the Coupe? I know it's a race car on the street, however my wife to-be would like a "little comfort" when we take the Coupe for weekend getaways.
    Thanks.

    1. Hood is plenty stable but could slam in a wind with no prop. Lined up and latches easy with just the stock hardware.
    2. No roll up window option that I know of though I did see someone who made their own once the door is not suited to one without a lot if modification. In practice I leave my drivers one off and just run with the passenger
    3. Don't know on that one I am using 4 link and 2002 mustang axle
    4. I installed north race cars AC/heat unit but haven't charged it yet.

If you have anything else or want photos of something specific give a shout

The coupe also has an A/C unit you can get from FFR as well. Check out my build thread on my coupe I recently sold. No one has a successful roll up window deal as of yet. A few are in the works. The slider works well IMO. The 15" pin drive should work with the coupe. You definitely need a prop or use a vise grip to keep the hood from flopping when open. After body work the hood latches fine.

    1. Stable in the open position, is easier to open/close with two people.
    2. Not to my knowledge
    3. Yes, the 15" pin drive wheels will work with the coupe.
    4. Drove a coupe in 108* heat for a weekend, A/C would have made the drive easier on the body.

I bought slightly stronger and longer struts for my hood. The extra length ( less than a half inch) helps the hood stay over center. The struts provided are the
same as the ones used on the rear hatch. NOT strong enough.
    Strut-your-stuff has a nice selection.

If you are going to leave the hood open cut some 3/8" fuel line to length and split it on one side then slip it over the strut rod portion. That will keep the wind from slamming it unless it's a pretty good gust.
It's never too early to start beefing up your obituary.

The front will slam down but I installed a hod prop to solve the problem. I’m running the 15” Knick off and work well. Have A/C but not real happy with it. It sounds like you’re looking for everything I’ve done and mine is going up for sale soon at a very reasonable orice
