about to pull the trigger?
Ok so I am gonna pull the trigger on some XXR 530s in Flat black
I am gonna get the 18x8.75 in +33 for the rear but am not sure if I want 17x8.25 on the front or 17x7 on the front?
the 17x7 would give it a nicer off set look but how does everyone feel this would affect handling? 17x7 or 17x8.25?
I am planning some real sticky street tires for them. it will see most of its life on the street with the occasional autocross/track day

I went also have XXR's and had to make the same decision on front rim width. I went with 7", as I thought it a better width for my 215/40-17 front street tire size. I'm a roller, but haven't driven yet. Most tire manufacturers spec 7.5" nominal for a 215, but either is within range. In general, stretching the tire on a wider rim can increase feel and turn in response, whereas pinching it on a slightly narrower rim can generate a bit more ultimate grip

I went with the 530s and I love them. I've had them for a year (only 1,300 miles though) and they still look as good as the day they were mounted. As you can see I went with 8.25 wide in the front but I'm not sure I would recommend it as they rub near full lock. It hasn't bothered me enough to do anything about it but I thought you would want to know.

so do you think the 17x 7 or 7.5 would be best? I would really like to push the asthetics of the vehicle. i currently have 18's on the front but with the 225 40 18s they are to big in diameter, I am thinking of 18 x 7 on the front and 19x 8.75 on the rear with a 215 or 225 35 18 (24.2" diameter) and a 245 or 255 35 19 on the rear? I want the rear diameter a little bigger to fill the wheel well more. not to worried about the speedo being out a bit.
I know going with these sizes really restricts tire options but I really want a specific look. I love the looks of the bigger wheels and it looks alot fuller

One other thing to consider with low profile tires is that you will feel every pebble on the road and hitting pot holes can quickly put dents in your rims. I've ran 215/35/18 tires on my wrx years ago and would not recommend it unless you plan on driving only pristine roads with no pot holes.
