I had some leaks in my one peace water line (some of my first tig welding) and it was to hard to git on and off. Fixed welding and added a hose, so now i can get it off and on, one from bottom other from top.IMG_8402.JPGIMG_8406.JPGIMG_8408.JPG

Had to put battery in to pump out tank, so i put oil in engine and turned it over for oil psi-- had leak at remote filter, yes hard to get at. Put new male fitting and hoses
    on now all good.
Got tank out and put fittings on to go to new tanks-- because of roll cage had to cut part of bracket off to get out.IMG_8441.JPG took pump out and resealed, will keep sender.
Worked on making new tanks, cardboard patterns, hoping to rearrange parts for other side.IMG_8443.JPGIMG_8445.JPGIMG_8444.JPG

Ok this a little bigger than the other tank, but it is TEN usable gallons! So if we look at nine gallons each gives me eighteen gallons + top tank!
Extra weight is low and just in front of rear axle.IMG_8454.JPGIMG_8455.JPGIMG_8457.JPG

Had to make a header tank because the first way i was going to plume tanks did not work. IMG_8466.JPGIMG_8467.JPG
Still learning to TIG, the first tank i used heaver aluminium and MIG welded then TIG for thinner, but the TIG would not work with MIG weld-bad things in weld.
Then cut that off and used 1/8 aluminium with TIG- but the eage that was plasma cut the TIG did not like! Yes-clean-clean!

Well after some redo's got the in and out piping done. IMG_8497.JPGIMG_8498.JPGIMG_8499.JPGIMG_8502.JPG
Now to get the filler tube and vents from tanks done.
Yes the back side looks off, but had them looking very good but hose ran into tank. Cut out with hole saw, could not weld next to heat exchanger so cut out and built up on back side then put in pipes and filled in holes!

Gas filler, i never liked the air vent-did not work! So with my two new tanks i put vents in all the tanksIMG_8506.JPG looks good but did not like angles on fittings, so cut it up and remade it.IMG_8509.JPGIMG_8510.JPG Fit's now and i have high hopes it will work!

Got the ac lines and wiring done, well check for leaks. The water lines for air to water coolers are are done and ready to check. working on last part of fuel line. So we are getting down to turbo speed , and cortex boost controller, need to run both inside cab. And one thing more to run to back, the fuel return line. Then putting car back together. Ready to get it tuned and see what we get!

Having some problems with my forgeline wheels and Michelin tires, they have very small leaks at bead. Had them to tire store and they used sealer on beads , but still leaks so called forgeline, said they had only 3 or 4 Michelin that had small rubber heirs on bead. If i send wheels and tires(bought both from forgeline) the fright is 285! They are looking for a shop in my area, well see about in the next day. Had trouble with turbo water line leak, ordered parts and will make my own.
This is what happens when you start thinking you are about to see the end! All good!

If you're still fighting porosity with the TIG, perhaps lightly sand and acetone wipe your filler rod, like you would the tank, to remove any additional oxides.

Working away on the little things--had one fuel leak show --and had the small water leak, it was not small to fix. Put in breaker and fuse panel in back for the pumps and fans, waiting on relay- run after for water pumps and fans on heat exchanger. was sent one for delay on!
working on belt path for more belt on alternator, i am using the ford alternator and with my fans and pumps need more belt on pulley- burnt belt!

Got fans and pumps and AC doneIMG_8513.JPG with delayed off.
Built Gage mount into dash and closed hole i was going to put glove boxIMG_8516.JPG

Air scoops are done! Am looking to get car tuned after the 23rd, then put fenders and running boards back on. Engine runs at 1000 rpm so have been able to test things and fix, but looked like a good time to make sure all was good at 8000 rpm before covering up.IMG_8555.jpgIMG_8557.jpgIMG_8560.jpgIMG_8564.jpg

Is there a way you can teach me to go back in time so I can catch up on a few things the Hot Rod needs?
