    Installing Carpet

At some point I will install carpeting. But for awhile I will just have the aluminum. I would like to paint it satin black until it's carpeted. But will it be difficult to get the carpet to stick if the aluminum is painted?

    Thanks
    Bill

    Probably.
You might want to consider plasti-dip. You can peel it off easily and it would be a good look for the interior.

I have to disagree...every production car ever built has had paint, they glue carpeting to many cars, many surfaces. Glue sticks to paint just fine. The trick is getting paint to stick to aluminum. You will have to read up on the different methods such as alodine, epoxy, or prekote. (Prekote is non toxic, and the Air Force is using it to paint more of their planes nowadays)

Painting the aluminum is more work than fitting and attaching the carpet. If you are not ready for the permanent carpet, buy some cheap stuff. You can use it as a template when you get ready for the good stuff.
