If I were to do it again, I'd keep those handy little access panels in place.

    Added Sanpless Tonneau Cover

I've been wanting to get a Snapless Tonneau from Phillip and Kay Deal for a while. I emailed them and they sent me a measuring guide to ensure a great fit.

I marked out my dimensions per their instructions, but I realized my high-mounted seatbelts were going to cause an interference with their cover.

I mocked up a possible solution on butcher paper, turned it into a dimensioned drawing and sent it to Kay and Phillip with photos. I asked if they would do a custom cover. They said they would be happy to accommodate my request as soon as the holidays were over. I was in no rush.

A few weeks later the cover arrived, perfect fit!

I also sent them a sketch of a small flap and asked them to make and ship loose so I could install after everything was in place.

    Worked like a charm.

It was a true pleasure to work with Phillip and Kay. Great people and a great product.

    Thanks
    -Steve

Phillip and Kay do a great job with these covers. I will tell you that when you adjust your bungee cords, adjust them TIGHT. If you leave them too loose, and it is raining, they will puddle and not drain the water off. The first time mine was in the rain, the cover worked great, but the puddle was almost disastrous. I found the by having them tight, the water would flow off much better rather than puddling.

Not tight enough, any longer without draining it off and I think it wold have collapsed.
    IMG_5960.jpg

With them tight, you get something like this.

    New Bling

Someone posted the link to these new Coyote coil covers from Ford Racing (M6067-M50CAM). I like the raised fins in natural aluminum.

    Couldn't help myself.

I like the look and I hadn't spent any money on the car recently and that's just not right...

Very nice. Those are great looking covers and fit into your very nice engine installation perfectly. Now if only Ford would have something like that for the Gen 3 Coyote. If that's even possible.

Thanks all. Can’t even call it a project since they just snap on, but the result made me happy none the less. Paul, you are right, Ford should offer something for the Gen 3 but I think you handled it as well as can be. You just gotta see the beauty in those Gen 3 performance numbers and be happy.

Hi Steve. Really enjoying your build thread! I've already documented a number of tips I will consider once my kit arrives, and I can start the build.

I like you idea of printing Edwardb's build thread. I've read all of his build threads, and (like everyone else) really benefited. Is there an easy way to print like you mentioned above? I found the printable version option, but it doesn't include the pictures, which a man with a small mind (me!) definitely needs. How did you print his build for your binder? Page by page?

Glad you found something useful in my thread. It's been a while so I don't remember exactly how I printed Paul's and others' but I just went to Page 1 of my build thread and hit "Ctrl" "P" and it looked like it was set up to print the entire 53 page document. I use Microsoft Office on a PC.

    Terlingua Racing Team

I loved the Terlingua Racing Team emblems that Hotyacht added to his car in New Zealand. Loved the story he shared about the exploits of Shelby and his buddies out in the Terlingua desert. Reposted below.

Copied from Hotyacht's graduation post. "The badge on the side is the Terlingua Racing Team logo as used by the Shelby team on their Mustangs - there is a great story behind the logo and how it came about - https://terlinguaracingteam.com/terl...-team-history/ "

As much as I admired Hotyacht's emblems, I opted to pay tribute with a grill badge. Fabricated the backing plate and angle bracket and bolted the pieces to my radiator screen. I haven't made anything in a while and really enjoy making simple brackets with a jig saw and file.

I like the look and I like to share the story.

    Great thread. Thank you for
your documentation! Can I ask how the finish on your aluminum panels is holding up? I really like the look of the brushed aluminum and would like to do something similar.

    Thanks Zach,
Glad you enjoyed the thread. I have several thousand miles on the car now and the aluminum panels still look great. I finished mine with Alumaclear. Others use Shark Hyde. Both products work great.
Good luck with your build. Reach out anytime.

7000-mile update and Shout Out to a great vendor.

7000 miles and loving every minute. I changed the oil at 5000 and gave the car a thorough inspection. One loose bolt on my rear sway bar but everything else looked good.

I had a rattle in my driver's side Gas-N-Pipes side pipe. I called Georgie to see if I could buy a replacement. He said he would just send me a new one. Didn't ask how long I'd had it; just said he'd replace it. Then Covid hit and stainless became scarce. Georgie got behind on his existing backlog so he asked if I could be patient. Of course, I understood and eventually Georgie sent me a new side pipe. Just a shout out to a great vendor! He was eager to help me but wanted to take care of all of you waiting for your orders.

We are very lucky to have great vendors that support this community.
