Saturday, January 14th @ 08:30 Acropolis Café & Grille
20659 Catawba Ave, Cornelius NC 28031
(I-77 Exit 28)
Forecast looks a little iffy overnight Friday, but hopefully everything will be cleared out by our monthly breakfast time Saturday morning.
RK Motors is also hosting an open house / show at their facility in Charlotte this Saturday. I stopped by today to scout out things… they invited us to come in the back way to avoid their parking lot speed bumps & to park together better. They’ve got some very impressive inventory right now, including a dedicated pit of cobras, and one very awesome Daytona Coupe I’m tempted to negotiate my left kidney for. Show info: http://www.rkmotorscharlotte.com/company/show
Hope to see you for breakfast & then we’ll drive to RK together after!
Forecast looks good for Saturday. For those of you not heading to the Auto Fair early, come join us:
Saturday, April 8th at 8:30am
Mooresville Cracker Barrel
And for anyone who wants to drive out to John’s shop for his open house afterward (see attached), we’ll just head out Hwy 150 for the short drive to Denver:
Mass Acceleration Motorsports
3428 Denver Drive
Denver, NC 28037
This Saturday’s forecast is looking picture perfect, so I hope you’re ready to pull that car out & come help fill the parking lot again with a sea of serpentine bliss. I think our record was 19 cars a few years ago... it’d be great to get a photo shot of that many again or more if you’re available.
Saturday, June 10th at 8:30am
Mooresville Cracker Barrel
Anyone up for a drive after, I’m good with touring some roads around locally, or maybe even a quick run up the Diamondback or Devil’s Whip depending on interest.
Hey Brian. I'm in Gastonia a lot. Wish I could be helpful with wiring, but I'd mainly just be a good moron... er, moral... support. Either way, hope to catch you soon.
Thanks Mike. Seems like my iphone has consistently been out of memory for taking pictures for several years now! Looking forward to catching up tomorrow.
Forecast for our regularly scheduled monthly breakfast tomorrow is looking wet. We're rescheduling to next Saturday, August 19th, 08:30am at Mooresville Cracker Barrel. Hope to see you then!
Subscribed to this thread, and joined the FB group. Moved to NC a few months ago and am getting closer to starting my project. It would be great to see some roadster examples in person. Thanks!
Streetside Classics in Concord is hosting a cruise-in this Saturday, July 28 from 9am-noon.
I’ll be picking up a nephew in Gastonia, so if anyone from down & around that area wants to drive in together (or anyone wants to meet anywhere along the way), just let me know and we’ll get it planned.
PM'd, but for anyone else subscribed here & not on the email list: yes, we'll be meeting Saturday, January 12th @ 08:30 at the Mooresville Steak n Shake. Hope to see you then!

Larry,
I am purchasing a Mk4 roadster, #9058, and will be bringing her to the CLT area in the next couple of weeks. Could you please add me to the distribution list as well? Email is [email protected].
Thanks,
Jeff

Please add me to the list. Life got in the way, but this weekend's trip to the London Ohio Cobra gathering has re-inspired me to get it finished and drive it to next years show.
Hi, Im new to this awesome lifestyle. I bought an already built Mk3 2 months ago. I didnt build it but it appears I am rebuilding it. Have a 5.0 out of 87 donor and still learning mustangs and cobras, Are these get togethers still happening? thanks, Mike
Yes, monthly breakfasts are still happening. With Covid restrictions they are often a little creative. If the weather holds breakfast should be this Saturday morning. PM Larry, Coyote Cruiser, the starter of this thread and have him add you to the monthly email list.

Had my Cobra for a year now and am looking into doing some autocross in the CLT area in 2021. Looks like CCR of SCCA runs events out at the Z Max lot in Concord but I could use some advise on setting up the suspension and tires and generally getting to a solid base line that i can build on. Anybody planning to run those events that I could get some advice from?
I used to AutoX almost every weekend but since I moved to NC haven't had the time. I'd be interested in tagging along if you decide to go to Z Max next year. If you haven't Auto X'ed before the best advice I can give is to make sure that your car has a good alignment and check your tire pressures. Somewhere in the low 20's is typical for a street tire. My car likes 22 front, 24 rear. Apart from that be prepared, the less distractions you have to worry about the more you can concentrate on the course. A typical first timer will struggle with following the course and understanding the cones. You really want to be able to drive in, register, tech the car and then not worry about it for the rest of the day. As you get more experience adjusting pressures etc can be a great tuning tool but don't go into your first event with any plans to change anything.
