    Gold Rush: Alaska- Who watches?

What is it about this clueless group that is interesting? Half of the problems they have could have been prevented by a little testing before even leaving Oregon.
Will they make it? This week a guy is brought in to make a plan for digging the hole after they are 35 feet down. That's some info that would have been good to have known before they started.
Tune in next week, same bat time, same bat channel.

I've watched a few times. Not really into it. Had to sort of laugh at the premise of it all.
A bunch of guys who are all broke but spends hundreds of thousands of dollars to dig a hole that just MIGHT have gold in it somewhere. They only have a few months to do it and everything they have breaks at least once per show. Now they are down to a few months left and only have an ounce of gold to show for it? I just have to think somewhere they are going to either strike a vein or go home, and work in a Wal Mart someplace.

    I guess stupidity is interesting.
I think 2 or 3 of us could have done much better then they.
I stopped watching. It will be like every other reality show. They will get rich from the show not the gold, then become divided. The show will turn into more of a drama and loose the focus.

A guy I work with likes the show so I tried it. I watched one night for about 10 minutes and lost interest.

We could have done better and I know nothing about mining except it comes from the ground. A test run of all their equipment would have been smart. That's the biggest thing I think they should have done differently. And not wait until the last few weeks to bring in experts.

    Well, lets see.....

    A group of 'hands-on' guys
Taking on a 'who does that sort of thing' project
Against the better advice of their better halves
No prior experience to speak of
Constantly having to throw more money at
No real instruction manual to guide the way
Having to improvise daily to fix little unplanned issues

Yea, I can see why you guys wouldn't like it.

Kinda like building a car huh?
I could five or six guys from here and do a much better job than they have. But I guess we will see Friday night if it was worth it.

    Agreed.

No doubt that many (most) here could do a better job - just the smallest amount of planning would have made a huge difference. They are not the brightest bunch - but I do give credit to them for having the balls to go try. Its the comedy of errors aspect that makes it entertaining to me - it is a shame that many of them have so much on the line. I do look forward to Friday, but like most of these recent docu-drama shows, I expect to be mildly disappointed. Glad to have the DVR to FF thru some of the more overly dramatized portions.
    Cheers,
    jason

    Who watches you ask?

Probably same kind of group that watches cars drive in a a circle like a merry go round. lol

Okay serious now....I tried and couldnt get past the dumbness. It was like watching drippie droolies tripping over themselves. Having b@lls with no real plan is not being brave with [email protected] is simply foolish.

I'm also thinking that there may be a little hanky panky going on..I didn't realize that they had to give the claim owner 20% of their takings..
Now if the father and son team have invested what now amounts to over $275 grand, I would think they may want to insure that they get their share of the gold first. Odd how in that one show, the old guy takes a single pan of soil, from that faulty separator table and claims he found a 1/2 oz, yet after they all pan 35 five gallon buckets of fines, they only end up with 2.5 ounces..Hmmm...

Final show is tonight. Guess if they don't make enough money, there won't be a season 2, right?
