Well I have been going over colors the last week or so visiting dealerships to see colors in person. I have nailed down my main body color to Lexus Indigo Ink Pearl Strips will be either white or silver strips, still havent made up my mind on the strips. I thinks this has been one of the hardest decisions to make on the whole build. You put all this hard work into making it look so nice under its skin and then bam its covered all up with the body. So your color choice has to be just right, because you always see it first. I copied a photo of SCracer's car from the other forum. I just love the way this blue pops in the sunlight. I know this color has been used a lot on these cars, but it is the best color in my opinion. The Deep Impact blue had a purplish look in shaded areas. There was other blues that where like that also.

And another of a Lexus SC 430

Time for paint! Made down to Temecula to drop off my car to Jeff Miller. Long trip down but will be worth it. He already fitted the doors and trimmed the trunk. Body is off and ready to get worked. Made my mind up on paint color, saw a cobra in the shop with Lexus spectra blue mica and loved the way it popped in the sun. Stripes will be Honda polished metal to match the rims. Should be done by the first of the year.

This is a shot Jeff sent me on the 5th. He said it would be done wet sanding and buffing by the 19th. I am planning to head down after the new year to pick her up. Can hardly wait. Was hoping to get it back for my birthday and Christmas, but the boss said it would be less stressful if I just wait. So that's the plan. The colors are Lexus Spectra Blue Mica with silver strips. Jeff said he would surprise me with the exact color of the strips. Will find out later I am sure. I just love the way it looks the blue came out it just gorgeous and really pops in the sun. Will post more pics once I get her back home.

This is a shot of what the engine cover will look like. He didn't send a pic of mine but it will look very close to this one.

She is all back together and ready for pickup. Cant wait to see her in person. I can see the finish now and its going to be a awesome summer.

Engine cover has a few more accessories I need to add.

Would like to add the rear bumper with nudge bars and front nudge bars, but right now the budget is blown so that will have to wait.

Wow! What a beautiful build and an impressive rate at which you put it together!

Quick question: I'm debating the TKO600 vs T56. Some others have mentioned needing to modify the trans mounting bracket to get the T56 to work with a Coyote. Did you find this to be the case? Is your shift rear- or mid-shift? I like the idea of the T56 6 speed, but am not up to welding anything, which is why I am leaning toward the TKO600.

The only thing I modified was just trimming the trans A frame bracket a little so it doesn’t push against the bottom of the trans. The drive shaft has to be custom made but it wasn’t much more then the ones FFR sells. The T-56 has a design to be able to move the shift position. That is on the newer models from tremec.

    Thanks Steve,

I was planning a darker blue Indigo, but when I got to Jeff's shop I saw this color in the sun and it just popped. I new I had to have that blue. And I saw the Lexus indigo in sunlight with a shadow and kind of had a purple haze to it. I didn't want that. I will post some picks when I get her back together and new pipes on her.

Registration was a breeze. Was driving in gel coat by August 10 and have now have 500 miles on her. Would have been more but weather shorten my drive season.

Made the 1100 mile trek down to Temecula, CA to pick her up from The Bat Cave last weekend. It was perfect weather down there 70 degrees and sunny, so jealous. The paint turned out even better in person then in picture. The blue really pops in the sun. Jeff did a awesome job and I don't think I could of even come close with the detail and value that Jeff does with anyone local. I shopped around a few places locally they wanted a lot and had never done a Factory Five kit. After seeing (Jim) RR20AC car in person that Jeff had done, it was a no brainer, down to Temecula it was.

Loaded her up and headed back north the same day. Couldn't wait to get her back home and start on the last phase of the build. It was a marathon of a trip, made it down to Temecula in one day. Picked her up the next morning and was headed out of town by 2:00. Got to Stockton, CA that night, woke up the next morning early and made it back to Tacoma by 8 p.m. Got her in the garage and up on jack stands.

On of the first things I put on was a engine cover emblem and replace the SS bolts on the cover I had previously add with chrome button head screw.

The Car Looks Phenomenal & You Pulled Off A Fantastic Execution Of A Modern Powerplant!
The fact that you incorporated your body color in the engine compartment really sets it off.

Looks stunning! That is a long run to get a beautifully painted roadster but worth the trip.

Hey brother ! Pleasure. You get an "Iron Man" driving award ….or at least a "participation ribbon". (Just a word) don't leave the fender covers on any longer then they need to be for the first few months. CHEERS, ...da Bat

My goodness, she looks amazing!! Great color choice, and great choice on painter too.

On a slight tangent, where did you get your fender protector?

Congratulations on a really beautiful build; you should be very proud of what you have completed!!

Thanks for sharing your progress with us, but I have a single complaint... I would like to see some more pictures when you can. Different views, different angles, some more detail, etc. She's too nice not to show her off!

    Regards,

    Steve

Paul, I can't believe you did that trip so quick. Brutal. Color is perfect. I'm sure we'll be carving up the roads soon. Just have to get RXBill to post some of his build. da Bat has definitely made his mark in the Pacific Northwest.
